Hi everyone! If you want to make sure you see stuff in the group I would recommend turning on notifications!
@Brittany have a look at a free month trial on scribd or amazon :) our library thankfully does ebooks, and with COVID you don't even need a library card
I do have Libby through the library, but almost everything has a hold for the books I looked up for the challenge! I’ll check into Scribd, thanks!
Here is a Countdown to the start of the challenge :) only books started once the countdown is down to 0 count!
I think I wasn’t to try Option 3 but I can’t see the example. I don’t see a link to click where it says “spoiler”
Yeah the app is awful when it comes to stuff like this x) always have a second look in the browser lol
I'll start puting up threads where you can post your finished books, keep an eye out for yours :) you'll also find the rules there again, and I'll keep your points up to date :D
All individual players will have ONE THREAD together, so make sure you leave ONE comment which you'll edit whenever you finish a book. I'll make shortcuts to your comment so you can always find it easily

😅 I can’t figure out this app/site. How do I edit comments. 😅 I feel so stupid. I even went on the actual website not the app and 2 minutes later I was in the app 😅Please help this tech challenged book worm out. 💁🏼♀️

I can't figure things out on the app either, it's a lot easier to use the website from what I can tell!

for the challenge it's easier to use a tablet or computer and the goodreads website. You'll see there in the right down corner, that whenever you leave a comment you can edit it. With other people's comments you see on the right down side that you can reply to them :)

if this isn't clear, maybe if you have a discord account I could show you how it works as I can share my screen with you through discord
the app has a lot of problems most of the time anyways. to me it's only good to check messages or see if someone posted in the group

Yay ;) I searched for my laptop and I'm good to go! Thought I was going crazy...
So just to confirm, I make one comment and add my books there as I finish them?
Do we message you our points tally through here as well?
Thanks for always helping me :)

so you use this thread to comment once, and you just update that comment as you go. So you have everything in one place. I'll also make a shortcut to everyones comments, so you can find it easily without haveing to scroll :) also yes, keep track of your points in that comments. But I'll also update the points next to everyone's shortcut :)
As for how to post the books, I'll give an example in the linked thread

2 hours to go until the challenge starts! I have to work by then, so I'll already wish everyone happy reading for this challenge :D
Daniela wrote: "I hope everyone is enjoying the challenge so far :)"So much :) It's actually helping me move through my reading list and stay on track for once ;)
Daniela wrote: "I hope everyone is enjoying the challenge so far :)"This challenge could not have come at a better time for me. I’ve loved compiling a list based on the options. The weather here has been perfect for reading on the deck & I’m enjoying it so much. Thanks again for putting it together!
I hope everyone is healthy and happily reading! I'm in the middle of moving (we have 4, so quite spontaneous), so I won't be able to update your points in the overview until the challenge ends, on June 2nd.
Also, our group read in June will be Act Like A Lady. There is a thread for it, and I'll update it with a reading schedule and discussion threads soon :) I'd love for us to read it together and discuss in detail. I think it'll be good promo for the ladies, especially as they didn't ask for it and it'd be a fan project :)

Rules
Use any of the options to gain points. Books may only be used once for one task. All book formats are accepted. Minimum page requirement is 100 pages. The challenge goes from May 1 to June 2.
I decided to let people enter as either an individual player, or to play as a team of 3-4 people.
Disclaimer: Don’t worry about there being so many tasks, I know it is impossible to finish all! I just wanted everyone to have a variety of choices so everyone can find a task they enjoy. It's also totally fine to only read one book!
The Options
Option 1: As May 30 is the date of death of one badass woman named Joan of Arc, watch this 3-part Youtube series to gain 10 points per video. Additional 20 points will be added if you take part in the discussion thread.
Option 2: Read books that fit following tasks. 10 points per finished task, 20 bonus points for finishing all.
○ YA book by a WOC
○ a historical fiction book
○ a myth retelling
○ a book from the Reading Woman Award Shortlist found here
○ a feel-good/happy book
○ about a woman who inspires you OR written by a woman who inspires you
Option 3: Spell-Out following dicktionary words. 10 points per letter, 20 bonus points per finished words. A read book can only be used once! An example is included in the spoilers:

You can use author's name, title, main characters and book settings to fill the letters.
🐌 Snail-Trail

Option 4: share a funny/embarrassing story (something you don’t mind sharing) which fits the LG book theme in the story thread. Posting a story gets you 10 points, the best 3 get an additional 20 points (voted by all players).
Every individual player and every teams will have their own threads where they can post their finished books!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
