Omg yes, I was in my head yelling ‘tell him hell no, Hark’. He uses emotional abuse so easily, and his entire viewpoint toward Hark is so dangerous.
Just finished the current reading challenge to get to page 200, and I feel like Clive Cussler was consulted heavily for the last chapter. Loving this little offshoot adventure in the midst of Hark’s story. I still think Hark is wilding up a narrative for the reader though, to convince us of something.
I think Selphin is being set up as an unwilling ally in whatever lies ahead, but I'm not sure I like her. Surprised Hark is allowed away from the tent. What does Jerk do when he's gone? All a bit flimsy somehow. And why no thoughts to heal Pale Soul?
