Well......I liked it overall but felt that not a whole lot happened. Was more of a set up for the next book i felt. I really enjoy Sullivan's writing style. He is great at developing characters that I care about better then most authors i've read. I never found myself bored during this book but was not as intrigued as Age of Swords (which is in my favorites shelf). I am not a huge fan of cliff hangers in books but I am hoping that I am please with the build up for the next two books. Sullivan is one of my favorite authors (if not my favorite) so I will definitely be moving on to the next book immediately.

I'm not sure if you read my Author's Note or not, but the series is really broken into two trilogies. The first set (Books 1 - 3) are really self-contained stand-alone episodes, but the second set (Books 4 - 6) are really one very long story with three parts that is broken down into three books (because the tale was too long to print in a single volume. I don't like cliffhangers either, but the second half had two very dramatic "ending spots" that just happened to be at the right time (from a page perspective) so we did what was necessary. The good news, is that we rushed the release dates and all three of those came out in short order so people didn't have to hang from the cliff for very long.
