@Leslie - wow that is very high praise, thank you for that. Especially given the fact that Tolkien is what inspired me to write in the first place (when I was all of 12). I'll do my best to keep the books coming and I'll strive with each one to make it the best book I can.
The best series ever, I have listened on my drive to work to books in order every other month. My girlfriend feels Royce would be my best friend since I have the same attitude. Can't say enough other than once you start reading, but for me it is the audiobook versions. Close you eyes and the narrator will transport you there. Makes my 2hr drive back and forth to work so easy! Thank you Michael for the great works and to your wonderful wife Robin for the support she gives you.
I'm so glad you have enjoyed them. And, yes, Tim, does an amazing job with the narration. He makes me sound much better than I am ;-). I'm honored to have his talents on both Riyria and Legends, and he'll be coming back with us for The Rise and the Fall.
This is my favorite series of all time. I love everything there is to do with Rhyria. My husband and I love to listen to the entire series a couple times of year, been rereading Chronicles since finishing Age of Legend Series. Thank you for writing them and thank you to Robin for making sure we got to read them.
@Debbie - I'll certainly let Robin know you and your husband are glad for her push to get these books out - that always puts a smile on her face.
@Matthew - So far all my short stories have been with main Characters (several with Royce and Hadrian) and one with Suri and Minna. I am considering some short stories with secondary characters. Wyatt comes to mind, as does Wesley. Will I ever do them? Not sure. It depends a bit on what novels I'm working on. Short stories are generally given away for free, and so I mainly concentrate on the novels which pay the bills.

Ok so I am listening to the audiobooks again, while I wait for AoE, and while I was out running this morning I thought I heard a possible Easter egg in Theft of Swords...In chapter 8, "Trials", there is a passage about Sir Breckton's brother, who went off to sea and his name is Wesley. Easter egg re: Princess Bride or was I just dehydrated and delirious on the run?
@Noreen - I don't think so. The people who did The Jester, also bought the rights to the Death of Dulgath (to turn it into a graphic novel). After years of work, and many missed deadlines they finally disappeared (I think their company closed down). Not having control over the adaptation drove me insane, and I don't think I want to jump back into those waters unless I have a really great partner that I have 100% confidence in.

So, there is an Easter egg in there in that Breckton and Wesley are mentioned in passing but they become fairly major characters in the Riyria Revelation Tales. But no, Wesley's name did not come from the Princess Bride. It's just a relly cool name for a naval officer ;-)
