What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Help!! This book is either children/ya. It's a boy's pov. He lives in a village that is poor I think and I think there's something about how two boys die every other night or something like that. His brother was taken one night. The village is surrounded by a wall. Everyone is told not to go over it. The boy goes over the wall with a girl he likes and finds a community. There is a scientist there who tells him that his village was actually an experiment of many. They were trying to find out how well a village would survive in these conditions and his village was I think the only one that survived. His village is village number five? Pls help I don't know the tittle of this book.
