Since this is the last book before the final Shadowhunter series (😭) I think it will give hints as to what will happen in TWP. I think the 9 princes of hell will be big in TWP, so I see them being in COI and COT as well. And since Cassie is doing the art for each prince with information, it seems like she’s almost prepping us to know them? I was also thinking maybe some curse will get placed by a prince that will come into effect during TWP. I also think since I’m convinced Lucie will find a way to save Jesse, maybe that’s something important in TWP- the ability to raise ppl from the dead in a good way that doesn’t mess up the balance? And I think we will enter more realms and meet more of the princes. What are your thoughts?
True! But this will probably be the biggest so far(but I feel TWP will be the ultimate finale). Although I wonder how long it’ll be? Since QoAaD was 912 pages....
I agree! But I feel like the same thing that happens with KOA by SJM will happen. KOA was over 1,000 pages but they had to shorten it because it was either a) too long for a YA book or b) the book spine kept breaking because of its length. So I feel it will be over 1,000 but in print it’ll turn out less.
I don't think I'm ever gonna be ready for an end to this world. I want the books to be long and I want to read them slowly and I also want something continuously happening which always does coz Cassie doesn't waste pages on shit. (though I'd say she did a tin bit in cog)and just as @El said, I too think demons are gonna be big in this. demon blood in the Herondale line definitely is something big too.
and if we see this way, no matter how great the Blackthorns family is, they indeed are isolated and no one really cares about them? and maybe that's been happening since Tatiana's line? who knows.. so I think it will affect Ty and livvy and kit in a way too. don't know why but just a theory.
Also, in tid, there are automatons with demon souls in them and in tda there's the blight but in cog there Tatiana being an iron sister and attacking at the heart of nephilim. I really am curious as to how much damage she might cause being blind with rage and for revenge and with Belial's influence.
does that make sense?
I feel like it should be a bigger reason. Btw, I'm rereading chain of gold because I need to read something good. we can do a buddy read if anyone wants to
Hmm I sort of understand her rage honestly.I mean she didn’t handle it well but to see you husband be essentially killed in front of you, see his remains, have your father killed, then your son dies... it would be a miracle for her to have no trauma
Yeah. And, from my biased opinion, the Herondales are awesome, so it's even more petty. But trauma is reasonable, for her life experiences. Even being a Shadowhunter doesn't justify that kind of pain.
Tessa wrote: "Trauma, I get, but her hate for the Herondales is kinda petty"maybe she has a reason that we don't know, or maybe she just lost her sanity.i kinda believe the sanity one more tho
also do you guys think that this will be more of a clockwork princess ending or city of heavenly fire ending? a sob fest or not?
being indian, i was a little disappointed that ariadne did not have an indian name but cassie said that it's because of her parents. I do hope that does something about the plot
I think James would be on the front cover of Chains of Thorns because in the COI synopsis it mostly mentions Cordelia, Lucie and James. Cordelia and Lucie are both featured on the covers so I believe it will be James turn.
Haha so now the theories begin for this book😙✌🏻Tbh I’m kinda shocked how many things I guessed right in COI. Anyways.
~ so I think we’re going to go see the unseelie king. Maybe. I can’t remember the timeline for when Malcom discovers how to raise Annabel, but if Lucie does summon her ghost it stands to reason we may see the scene where he learns how to raise her. I also feel Lucie has created large consequences for raising Jesse and Jesse himself also will go through loads.
Haha perhaps. I feel Malcom would have figured out sooner or later the truth because at the end of the day, he’s a warlock and I’m quite certain at some point someone would tell him for a bargain. Even the faeries could have told him at some point to stir up trouble. I think though it is bc of Lucie and Grace that he knew the truth, it was also his own decision to do necromancy.
okay hi, I need to understand something. I'm from Italy and I have a really good english level, so I usually read books in english, and so I did for COI. But the fact is that I understood something at the end of the books, that no one is talking about, so maybe I didn't understand it wright lol. So when Ariadne goes to James and Cordelia's house at the end and waits for Anna to come out, and then she tells her that they will never be together and so on, and THEN there is a line that says "Anna sank down onto the front steps of a neighboring house unable to catch her breath. So I thought Anna couldn't breathe, like something was happening and she couldn't breathe and then I thought "Lucie had just raised Jessie from the dead, and necromancy has a price, what if the price is a life and that life is Anna's"oh god I hope not, I really love Anna.
But pls tell me if I misunderstood everything
Hmm I think it was because Anna was crying so hard she couldn’t breath properly, but you do have a good theory! Perhaps it’s not Anna but I definitely see lucie’s price of raising Jesse being one of her loved ones lives
hey guys, what are your thoughts on the epilogue of COI? what do you think is up with Tatiana getting the key to the Iron Tombs?I remember Malcolm thinking that if Annabel died like Iron Sisters and Silent Brothers do in Iron Tombs, then he'd have slept there with her for eternity.
I'm guessing Tatiana and Belial are going to offer Malcolm to come see Annabel's body (skeleton) and are also going to get him to side with them just to leave Lucie alone to suffer since she's a Herondale and Tatiana hates them and all. no coherent thoughts on this yet but that the direction I'm thinking in
