This is a great book! I don't think you will have any trouble getting through it. I was actually just thinking about it the other day lol. Weird
I'm choosing this book, too! I've wanted to read it ever since I saw a tv interview of Eugenides about this book. It seems like it'll be one of those mind-opening books. Good luck to us.

I bought this book based on the cover and I'm glad I did. It is definitely a book that is hard to put down once you've started reading it.
I'm about 30% in. I didn't expect so much of the book to be about Cal's grandparents. Like while I'm reading, I feel like I'm still waiting to read more of Cal's actual life instead of the family history. I'm enjoying it, nonetheless.

I'm about half way through. There is a lot of family history in the book but it is holding my interest so far.
Cal's grandparents and all the family history stuff is very important so don't lose hope yet!
I loved this book. When I read it I also felt a bit confused at first that we weren't learning about Cal's life, but the family history is so compelling that you don't really mind that it was not what you expected :)Hope you enjoy it!
I'm done with it and I loved it. I'm so glad I joined this challenge. It gave me the push I needed to finally read this book. I reviewed it, too.
Ok. I finished it. It was not quite what I was expecting. Overall, it was a decent read. I did enjoy the family history. Also a good book of self discovery.
Beginning this today. I'm glad folks are saying it's a smooth read. This will be one of the longer books I take on.

Seriously awesome book! I loved all the history and the writing is excellent! I couldn't put it down and couldn't wait to read it each night!!! Love, love love!!! So happy I finally read it!
