Taylor is light-hearted and usually care free. If the situation is out of his hands, he'll just go with the flow - that's how he was raised. While the Pendragon line originated from a long line of great soldiers, the recent generations have turned to more creative and peaceful lifestyles - artists, musicians, performers. As custom of the Pendragon's, a member of the family is given a nickname - usually an animal or object - that represents their personality. Taylor's father, Kerrigan, got the Dragon for his temper. His mother, Vivian, got the Serpent and the Lamia for her cleverness and intuition. Taylor got the Chimera, because the word also meant fantasy or daydream. The nickname was originally meant to poke fun at his continuous escapes from reality and into the reverie. The name grew on him, till the point where he signed his paintings as "Chimera". He used the moniker often.

At age fourteen, he encountered Prince James for the first time. He did not know of the mutual attraction between them, but over the course of several months, their friendship grew strong. He painted portraits of the Prince, whom he used to help better understand human anatomy. Then, one day, he asked the Prince if he could draw him nude, for the sake of art. The Prince agreed, on the condition that Taylor himself was also naked. While painting, he felt blood rush downward toward his groin while blood filled his face and colored his cheeks. To his surprise and amusement, James' body responded likewise as the Prince's eyes wandered downward. Their feelings were exposed, written on both face and body. The next thing Taylor knew, James' hands were on him, touching his body in ways he was never touched before. And their lips were locked together. He felt their hearts synchronize as the fell upon the Prince's bed. And so their secret, forbidden romance started. But as sudden as it began, it abruptly ended only two years after. James told him they were over, but Taylor would not, no, he could not believe it to be true. He loved James, and he knew James loved him back, equally, if not greater. He did not let James' words deter him. He will win his Prince's heart again!

Nudism is rather common among his household, and while visitors might be taken back by this, given the fact that his family is a family of artisans, they view the human body as nothing to be a shamed of, and therefore, clothes are optional to Pendragons.

His uncle, Mordred, and his cousins, Medraut and Mordaunt, are part of the Southern Rebellion. Mordred and Kerrigan are sons of Morgan and Arthur. Morgan had an older sister, Morgause, and a younger sister, Elaine. Morgan's mother was Igraine, and Igraine had an older sister, Vivian. Arthur was the son of Uther, whose ancestors fought in the ancient war. Morgause had three sons, Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris, and Gareth. Vivian had a son, Lancelot, whose children is part of the Northern Rebellion.
