Central Park

I walked into a small soup kitchen, and they gave me a sandwich, and a bowl of soup. Onion. I sat down and slowly started eating. A few minutes later, Jax walked in, and came over.

He groaned as he sat down and i worriedly asked him, "Hey, you good?"
He nodded, "Yeah, that dragon got me pretty good though."

I nodded and gave him my sandwich. He grinned, "Dude, this day was awesome, I got beat up by a dragon! At least let me say thanks with subway."

Jax slowly swung in and landed in the park. He took off his transformer and sat down on a small bench. He looked over and saw the small soup kitchen was still there. He grinned and then winced. He looked down at his stomach and said, "So, this is how I go. Cancer."

((Nooooooooo. Jax- Jax- Jax can't have cancer! Or die! :( Okay. I'll figure it out. Gosh. YOU GUYS ARE TRYING TO KILL SO MANY PEOPLE ON ME!!!!))

Emma flew to Central Park, but couldn't find Jax in the crowd. She sighed and turned around, flying back to the Tower.

Jax looked up and saw Emma. He smiled and whispered, "Just one date. Thats all I want. She can do better than me, so one date is all I want.

((BTW She's going to the landing pad))

Emma landed and puled out her phone, dialing Jax's number.

Jax sat at the bench when his phone started ringing. He answered in his customary way, "FBI fraud department, how may I direct your call?"

"Jax? Where are you?" Emma asked frantically. Then, processing his statement, she said in a worried voice, "Ha, ha. Very funny."

Jax said, "Oh, hey Emma. I'm over on the bench about a hundred yards from the soup kitchen."

"I'm coming." She walked at a resonable pace for a New Yorker (which, of course, is the fastest walk imaginable that's not running) to the soup kitchen, the looked for a bench. She saw one, with Hax sitting on it, and walked over there, sitting down and wrapping him up in a hug.

Jax smirked, "Wow, I thought we weren't technically dating yet. What changed?"

"It's a hug, Jax. I give them to all my friends." She pulled away, her face sad.
"I really don't want you to die on me," she said softly.

Jax laughed and held her at arms length, "Why would you think I'm going to die?"

"Well . . . you know . . . Frey told me that Matt told him that you were . . . sick." She furrowed her brows, frowning.

Jax let go of her and leaned back. He said flatly, "Oh."

"Oh?" Emma looked at him with concern.

((Lmao it took me like 4 minutes to settle on that XD))

Jax stood up and saod, "I just remembered that I have to get to the hospital." He stuffed his hands in his pockets and started walking off.

Emma followed him.
"Look," she said. "I know that you're gonna die. I'm gonna die. Evie-" Emma paused and choked, thinking of her friend. "Might already be dead. And there's nothing any of us can do about it. So we should live our lives as much as we can."

Jax shrugged stiffly and turned around, "I really like you Emma, but we both know you dont like me the same way. I wanted to go on a date with you. Matt wasnt even supposed to tell anybody. I dont want people treating me different just because I'm sick. Now, thats ruined. I cant ask you on a date, because I dont know wether or not you actually like me, or just pity me, an know I'll be gone soon, so 'why the hell not?' Just please leave me alone. At least we can part as freinds." He turned and walked away.

Emma caught up to him.
"Jax," she said. "I do like you. As more than a friend." She paused, and a light blush colored her cheeks. "And why would I treat you differently? Now I know. That's okay. That's what makes life so special: it's finite. None of us will live forever." She shook her head. "And who said you had to ask me out? That's stupid. Please. Know I really do care when I ask you if . . . you'll get pizza with me. For real this time. And we can even get your weird bacon pinnaple, to show that I mean it. Well, turkey bacon for me." She laughed lightly, but looked at him with a serious gravity in her eyes.

(( It's so cute watching them getting together. Or at least trying to.))

Jax looked at her and smiled weakly, "Ok, but first, I actually do need to get to the hospital." He gingerly leaned in and kissed her cheek. He put an arm around her shoulder and walked towards the hospital.

Emma happily walked with him.

Mara sits on a park bench reading an encyclopedia.

Jax walked in and sat down at a small table with a sandwich. Matt swung in, then quickly let his suit receed.

Mara looks up and waves at Jax.

He grinned and waved back. Matt asked, "Hey, whos she?" Jax shruged, "Shes kinda cute, maybe you should go talk to her." I laughed, "No, I have a date with Gwen later, remember?"

Mara goes back to reading the encyclopedia.

Jax stood and walked over, "Heyo, I'm Jax, this is my friend, Matt." He held his hand out.

Cara runs down the sidewalk, takes a quick glance behind her and accidentally runs into Jax. "Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. Are you okay?"

Mara takes it, and gives him a quick handshake. "I already know you Jax. Matt is new though." Shaking Matt's hand she says, "Nice to meet you, I'm Mara."

Emma walked into the park and saw Matt and Jax with two girls. She walked over.

Jax steadied himself and caught Cara, "Woah, watch where your going?" He grinned, "Whats your name? Im Jax."

"Hi Emma!" Mara waves.

Cara blushed, embarrassed, "I'm so sorry, you all seem to be in the middle of something...but uh do any of you have a jacket I could borrow for a sec?"

Emma narrowed her eyes and slid a dagger into her palm.
“Why are you here?”

Matt pulled his hoodie off and handed it to her, "Here, whatcha need it for?"

Jax frowned, and then realized, "Oh, its you! How ya been?"

Emma glanced sideways at him.
“I don't know, Matt. Maybe she’s cold?”

Cara takes Matt's hoodie and puts it on. She smiles awkwardly, "Thanks. And sorry I didn't mean to run into you guys... I'll be out of your hair soon enough."
