I also loved this one! We need more books like this - ones that address some of the feelings of modern kids. I am not seeing much Newbery buzz around this book, but it is one that I think every library should have.

I abolutely loved this book. I'm placing it as one of my favorites for 2014. I placed it as my #4 favorite. Funny you just posted this post. I just finished reading it this weekend.

I just finished The Meaning if Maggie and thought the story and writing was wonderful. I felt like I knew Layla , TiffAny, and Maggie. Probably not Newbery though.
