It's frustrating when the mc ends up with the person you didn't want them to end up with but if love triangles are done well, then I like them.

I am so glad I haven't read any books where that happens because that sucks.

Well, yeah, I guess it does depend on what the relationships are like.

I usually dislike love triangles only because they’re really poorly done. I’d love to read a slow burn, high stakes book with a love triangle where both the love interests are so good you don’t even know who to pick and there’s just a bunch of melodrama in the background. That sounds like something I could get on board with
The Delirium series has one of the worst love triangles ever, unfortunately it fits into the category "main character can't make up her damn mind and the series just ends before she does"
No, they are frustrating and they slow down the whole storyline of the characters. It’s annoying from every possible perspective, but it’s still effective
I actually don't mind love triangles. I only have issues with them when the story becomes more about the relationships and who will end up with who than the story itself. Especially when it seems like the MC's biggest struggle is who he or she should be with. Love triangles, to me, are fine as long as they are in the background, depending on the genre of the book. If the love triangle or the relationships the MC is dealing with are impacting their decisions, at least on a character development level that's okay. It's giving more insight into our MC's motivations or their mindset. However, if they are putting themselves or others in danger because of the decision they've lost me.
Blue wrote: "Exactly! Love triangles have their place, but they can be annoying when they take over the book in a genre that isn’t romance."Or even just to the point where you feel like the author put the love triangle in here to help drive the story along for a side-B plotline. Again, which is fine, but make me care about why this is in here, not just to check something off a list of what to put in a book so people will buy it.
nope, nope, nope! Love triangles are by far the worst love trope ever created. They usually take over the whole story and they are SO annoying.

I only like the love triangle if the MC gets together with who I ship them with. Otherwise it's annoying. Like in Red Queen, Mare and Cal happens in the end when it was supposed to be Maven - gets on my nerves! Also Alina and Mal was bad, and Lara Jean and John Ambrose...where did that go?😢
I don’t mind love triangles if it’s really uncertain who the MC will pick, but they still nag me because of how unrealistic they are. I mean, seriously, how many people have had love triangles in real life?
I love that because it’s completely true. Two guys competing for someone is something we only read about or see in movies.
Yeah, I guess I don't mind if the love triangle is sort of swaying one side, but when the protagonist can't make up their mind and is going left, right, left, right, that annoys me so much.
Also, is it just me that reads love triangles then finds out the book is actually reverse harem?

There is no point in a love triangle if you know 100% which character the MC is going to end up with. For example Bella, Edward, And Jacob from Twilight. You know throughout the entire series that Bella is going to end up with Edward. Jacobs role in the Romance is kinda useless and pointless.
That is very true. It seemed kinda pointless and one of the love interest will just keep getting hurt. At first I'm like, awwwww but then I'm like, just get over it already
Love triangles are fine if done well but I prefer if the other love interest of main girl finds another love interest rather than end up as the loser. I think my favorite love triangle is WillxTessaxJem because in the end she does have them both
I usually don't like love triangles because i just fall in love with all of them and i just cant decide but cassandra really changed the game with tid.
I think they're cool, but in the end everything gets messy and weird. In some cases their not that bad though.
