I'm about half way through. The lack of a commute has resulted in less audio book time. Making it up by more dog walking.
There is quite a bit about motherhood in this section. I started to type these up for the quotable bits but decided to put it here instead.
"...making food for people is actually a highly pressured, skilled, responsible job, just like motherhood, but nobody seems to notice, cooking or motherhood, the fact that they just take it for granted that we're going to keep our kids safe and make safe food, the fact that pies are light relief though actually, compared to kids, and at least there's some variety with pie-making..." 451
"...the mother-child thing is a very unequal relationship, the fact that while my kids are downing their milk and cinnamon rolls and assuming I'm all bound up with them and their swimming class, I actually can't think about them for more than a minute, because...my mind moves on to other things...." 484
"...most people are convinced they've got to have kids... and nobody ever tells them they might be happier just the way they are, the fact that nobody ever tells them the terror of what could happen to your kids cripples your life, the fact that all mothers are going through this all the time.. but we never talk about it... if every mom is worrying about every kid this much, that's an awful lot of fear and anxiety resonating through the world..." 501
