Hi everyone! I hope that you guys are doing well! We am going to set some standards for creating your character that will take effect when the ball (11 May 2020) starts, but starting now, I will already slowly ease into it by guiding you to create your character.

I know it's a bit sudden, and may seem unnecessary, but I don't want people to create a character just for the sake of creating. I'm not targeting anyone when I create this post, but its an accumulation of observation for everyone's character making.

It's not your fault, because we never enforced these rules before, but because the group is growing, and there are more people creating characters every day, we feel that there is now a need to do so.

BEFORE CREATING

First and foremost, everyone will be limited to a maximum of 5 characters, and we will be checking this through the character list. Make sure that most of your characters are active, don't make one for the sake of making. This also ensures that other people have a chance at making their own character with their own creative powers.

1. Check the list of characters here, and make sure that the one you are about to create, as much as possible, does not have the same God / Goddess title. This means that if there is a Goddess of Cameras, I don't want to see a repeat of Goddess of Cameras. There can be a God of Cameras though.

You can either:

a. rename them as Goddess of Photograph or
b. just choose another power for your character.

If one is the Goddess of Camera, and another the Goddess of Photographs, they should also not sharing the same powers of taking photos. This will be elaborated below.

2. If you really, necessarily and must make a character that is similar to one already existing, the powers may be the same kind, but a deviation from the person who made the character first. For example, God of Mind A: speaking to someone through their mind, blocking their thoughts; then God of Mind B should have something that's like: telepathically able to move things with their mind. So they do have similar skillset, in that they use their mind, but one affects people, another affects objects.

3. If you cannot think about how your character can deviate from the other person's character, then don't do it.

4. Always make your pet first, if you intend for your character to have a pet.

5. Gender Ratio is important. There are currently close to 30 female characters, or more, and only less than 20 male characters. I will put a ban on making female characters once it hits 35. I understand that you are used to playing a female, but the spirit of roleplaying is playing someone that you are not, so it doesn't hurt to just try playing a male character for once! :)

These rules might change when the group grows even more, because we would run out of options to make our characters, but for now, I know it is still possible.

CREATING YOUR CHARACTER

1. Do not make your character too overpowered (OP), which means that if your character is going to be the God of Death, he should not have abilities that can kill a living individual, or do necromancy, which means to make a person live again. If we see these powers being too strong, we will ask you to rethink about your powers before approving it.

2. Please put in effort into make your characters. We would like to see a character sheet that has more description in it. Simply stating two features of their appearance is not going to cut it. Do you only have brown eyes and black hair? I didn't think so either. This applies to their personality as well. Are you just kind and happy? Nope. You're more than that, and so should your character. (view spoiler)

This applies to your pets too.

3. Please make sure we have to APPROVE whatever characters you make, to ensure that you are balancing out your character, writing more than two words as your description.

[END] I know it was long, so thank you very much for making it this far. Please remember again, this is not to attack anyone, or call anyone out. It's merely for the fun of the group, and the ease of moderators. I will be locking this thread, so if you have any questions, please add it into the questions topic! Thanks again guys :)
