Canal Dreams

After reading this book i thought it didnt quite go where i wwanted. I felt there were a few ideas could have been taken a bit further. We need a big budget action movie! Let me know what you think.


Need flashbacks to show a brutal and harsh discipline from instructors involving physical and mental abuse.
Need same from parents.

The murdered policeman from protests would be the central focus of the story. That she is a little twitchy from years of intense discipline and abuse and has become a latent psychopath that enjoys her dark secret.

Has repressed it and made an attempt at normal life when given some freedom after graduation, but we can see the psychological scars have made her a little distant and cold. She tries to remain unaffected but we can see the pressures of relationships mounting up.

She would have an abortion and the audience would understand how horrific this decision was while she would do her best to struggle to repress her feelings

She would have a mild breakdown when boarding the plane. Screaming wildly in her seat and we would see her vision transformed to blood and fire.

Finally we come to her decision to travel by boat. The plot proceeds more or less according to the events of the book.

Then when the story takes a turn towards die hard we can have her descend into full psycho seeing hell with blood and fire everywhere

The reveal at the end that this is some twisted corrupted idealistic hipster milleanial-esque eco terrorist villain who represents the new world order. This moron is the alternative to corrupt capitalism? She would ask. The hopelessness of political agendas rooted in misguided fanaticism would cause her to realize she lived her entire life for someone else's dreams and she never liked the cello anyway. What does she want? Should she just give up considering the pointless stupidity of life? No she decides that her life will not be repressed any longer. There doesnt need to be a point as the very idea of meaning of life is an invented concept and she is free to do whatever she wants.

She would kill the leader who would change in her eyes from the devil to herself and would psychologically die and be symbolically reborn and find some kind of new meaning. She would dive into the ocean with scuba gear and emerge from the black ooze on the shore something like sandra bullock at the end of Gravity.
She decides relationships, kids, a new career, she wants it all.

Then she realizes its too late she is fooling herself and she is a just a psychopath and she lights the oil slick on fire from the shore and watches the remaining venceristas burn as the swim for the shore behind her. At least she finally found the thing that makes her happy.

She wanders away into the closest village and we flash forward to her running a small scuba diving business.


Hollywood here we come!
