do androids dream of electric sheep? and maybe hitchhikers guide if i get the time

I suck at group reads, but I'll try to join in for Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. Is there a specific date we'll start reading it, or whenever it works for us?

I'll be reading Dune this month, but if I can, I'll also try to squeeze in a re-read of Do Androids Dream...

I am a poor planner, I really have got no idea what books to read since sci-fi isn't really my forte (though, I gotta say, I love Doctor Who). But I am willing!
Originally I wanted to read just one book, but since I already went through Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and since I've just started The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy it wouldn't feel like a "challenge" if I just stopped there.

Do you guy's have any suggestions?

Why not just read a Doctor Who novel?

I've started Starliner by David Drake. I'm not normally a fan of his, but this was free on the Kindle so I thought I would take a chance. It's been a long time since I read an honest-to-goodness, "we're on a space ship" sf novel. So far, it's a nice change of pace.

Ender's Game, Marion Zimmer Bradleywrote some things you would probably enjoy, and I highly recommend The Dragon Riders of Pern series by Anne McCaffreyto new SF readers.

I have finished and I really liked it!

Yes, it is such a great book. I think I read it in two sittings. Definitely one of my favourites.

Okay, in the beginning I signed up for just the one book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and I got through it in no time - it was just so good!. So, I went on with:

I've had enough of Sci-Fi for this month. Mystery is my thing and I'm gonna read read around 20 books for Feb :)

8-10 are more than enough! I'm actually counting Hercule Poirot's stories separately, whereas I'm reading the combined one as 1 book... so you see, I'll actually be reading 20... hehehe!

Phew! Just managed to finish Dune within the month! I'd hoped to get to Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? as well, but it's going to have to be a February read now...

I'm doing another challenge through the SF&F group where I've kinda committed to one sci-fi book a month, so gotta stick with it for a few months anyway...
