olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments So, after finishing this book I have decided I will be reading the second entry! Can you believe it?
The way she concluded this book left me no choice...
Is it a favorite? no...but I can get behind spending another few days on reading another one of her books if it means I get to find out what happens next !

Woooooah look at you finishing the book in one shot! Love it! Tell how it ends. I love a good cliff hanger. A good end can always be a different maker

olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments So, in a nutshell.. The poisoner queen, Katharine, gets thrown into a ditch by her lover and he assumes she is dead, she is not and comes back with a new found vengeance and determination for the crown. And, finally, the part that told me I would be reading the second book...the naturalist queen Arsinoe (who is pretty much powerless and the weakest queen) finds out she is a Poisoner and not a naturalist at all !
Fantastic ending...plus I didn’t see who won the crown so I need to.

Woah! I felt like the character that you said was the weakest was going to turn out to be the strongest. So now is she going to be out to kill her sisters since she was betrayed?

olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments arsinoe (naturalist) was the weakest until now since she realized she was branded with the wrong power.
katharine (poisoner) has been betrayed and is ready to kill.

Okay so now two sisters what the smoke. Now we’re just waiting for the last sister to get on board?

olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments Mirabella (elementalist) is still not in favor of killing her sisters, however at the quickening (the ceremony at which each sister puts on a show with their powers, similar to katniss with the fire) something occurred and now Mirabella feels betrayed by her sisters who she has constantly tried to befriend.

I like the sister element of the story. I’m curious how this power struggle will end. Will family prevail or greed & power? 🤔

message 9: by olivia jane (new)

olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments if it’s not greed and power, it’s not a depiction of reality.

Hmmm I disagree. I think the family element can really shake things up here..

message 11: by olivia jane (new)

olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments but that’s what everyone wants, and that is not what would really happen!

Danny Perez | 13 comments Mod
I think it WOULD happen. People like us would choose family no?

message 13: by olivia jane (new)

olivia jane (oliviajanee) | 13 comments absolutely! But we were not separated as kids, raised with the knowledge of having to murder our sisters at 16 in order to fulfill the destiny of our ancestors.
