Traveller (moontravlr) | 736 comments Since we can do non-fiction, I just HAD to add Gitta Sereny! For some time now, I've been wanting to read a few of her books. Most urgently, Into That Darkness: An Examination of Conscience. The blurb says: Based on 70 hours of interviews with Franz Stangl, commandant of Treblinka (the largest of the extermination camps), this book bares the soul of a man who continually found ways to rationalize his role in Hitler's final solution.

Also, The Case Of Mary Bell: A Portrait of a Child Who Murdered and Albert Speer: His Battle with Truth and possibly The German Trauma: Experiences and Reflections 1938-2001

Kris (krisrabberman) Oh yes, Trav -- she's been on my list for far too long. Count me in for a read of Into That Darkness.

Traveller (moontravlr) | 736 comments Whoo-hoo! I had hoped so.... but when? July? December?
Not too soon for me, pls.

Kris (krisrabberman) Either would work for me -- do you have a preference?

Traveller (moontravlr) | 736 comments December would probably be the safest for me, but if you're flexible, let's stay that way and aim loosely for the second half of 2015? On the other hand, we'll need to mark it down on our schedules, I suppose, so... hmm.. okay, I'll get back to you once I've I've filled out my group discussion calender for 2015. November might also work for me, but i might be trying to cram too much into it....
