I would definitely say Cloud Atlas of David Mitchell, with the six different narratives working together. Reread it last year and loved it as much as before.

Henk - even among my small subset of friends the reviews on this one vary wildly. It seems to be one of those love it or hate it books

My choice is cliche, but for many reasons I’d choose NIV, Beautiful Word Bible
