Ranger's Apprentice discussion

((thank you i was seriously hoping you would delete everything so i could collect my thoughts and redo this...i was like 'please just delete everything...that would be so much easier...' so THANK YOU, STEPH!!!! hee hee :D let's try this again, raven!!!!!!!))

Alim wiped his sweaty brow. The sun hadn't felt this hot in days...

He suddenly saw a young woman swinging a sword around...practicing...and she looked like she knew what she was doing.

"Excuse me," he called out, jogging up to her though careful not to get in the way of her blade. When she didn't seem to hear him - she was very focused on her sword practice, he said again, "Excuse me!"

((me too HA HA :D ))

"Ah...well," Alim said, a bit at a loss for words. "I'm not trying to be rude or impatient, but I'm on a quest, you see. And I really need directions to a certain place."

"That's right," Alim said, taking out his sword and quickly wiping it off with the bottom of his shirt before re-sheathing it. "I'm on a quest to save my friend, Ryder ((ha ha there he is again steph - but i promise it won't be so confusing this time )) - he's a Ranger, and he's been captured. So, it's really more like a rescue mission. Anyway, they're holding him in Tareesh...and I have to get there right away."

((ha ha well, he'll come into this soon :) btw, none of his info changed - he's just coming into this later than alim did, okay?))

Alim swallowed. "How long?" he asked, not really wanting to know.

Alim's mouth all but dropped open. "A w-week and a half?" he stammered incredulously. "That's too long! I have to find a faster way to get there - he'll be dead by the time a week and a half is up!"

((okie dokie off to put ryder's info in the character section :) ))

((okay. hey, steph, why don't we make seep and alim travel together to go get ryder or something? you wanna?))

"And where would I find a horse like that?" Alim asked, stunned by the speed this type of horse could apparently reach.

((great!!!! :D okay))

"Well, is there any chance of finding any Horcads around here? Because I really need a horse...I have to rescue Ryder!" Alim said, looking at the horizon. ((hey, steph, you want seep to invite herself on the quest or should alim ask - your choice ;) ))

((thought i replied before, but guess it didn't work. idk. lolz :D sorry ;))

"How far away are these...Forests of Zock?" Alim asked. "And...you're willing to take me?"

"Alright," Alim said after awhile. There was nothing else for him to do.

Alim looked around just as Seep prepared to ride off. "Ah..." he said. "Is there a horse I could use, because there's no way I can keep up with you if I have to jog or walk. Your horse looks fast and I'm exhausted."

Ryder awoke to someone kicking him in the ribs.

He cried out in pain and curled up into a ball, trying to shield himself from the blows.

"Good morning, miss!" a voice taunted. "You're finally awake.

Ryder glared up at the person talking, and he found him to be a very fat, very ugly man.

"My, don't we look pretty this morning," Ryder rasped. "Did your mother make that dress for you?"

The man turned beet red with anger and kicked Ryder's back - even harder than he had kicked his ribs.

"You watch your mouth, you filth!" he snarled.

Then, spitting on Ryder, he stalked off to tell his captain that the prisoner was awake.

"Oh," Alim said. Idiot! his mind taunted. He swung up behind Seep. "Uh...thank you very much for doing all of this. I don't know what I would have done...I don't think saving Ryder - my friend - would be possible without you."

Alim hung on to Seep for dear life. I've got to get a horse like this, he thought, grinning. This animal's speed and strength were amazing!

"So how soon should we get there - can your horse go this pace for long periods of time?" Alim shouted over the noise of King's hooves and the wind rushing past.

((oh, btw, steph, ryder is the character's section now. and i'll brb!!!!))

((that's okay :) i took years to start doing this again, so don't feel sorry AT ALL. lolz :D ))

Alim's mouth hung open. "Did you just...did we just..." he stammered.

((kk, ta for now, i guess :) ))
Alim was so shocked that it was awhile before he could speak. "Really? That's...that's amazing! How many of these horses are there? Are they going extinct?" His shock was causing him to ramble. He tried to slow his thoughts down. "Where did you get this horse?"

"They must be amazing in battles!" Alim mused, more to himself than to Seep. "If we had horses like this when we went up against the Garans..." He let his sentence hang.

"I know of shapeshifters, but what are amarks?" Alim asked. "You Zocks sound like you have a lot of power."

((hi :) dunno that i can stay for long ))

"The elements? They sound very powerful," Alim said, shuddering to think of having to face 'amarks' in battle.

Alim knew he was going to be shocked speechless every time her horse did that, no matter how much it did it.

"So, what do you know of the Garans?" Alim asked.

"Well, I know quite a bit about them...I just wanted to see if you'd ever really heard of them," Alim said. "They come from the south of Araluen - from Gara, obviously. They're vicious fighters, and their weapons are quite a bit more advanced than many of the weapons around here."

Alim looked at her like she was crazy. "I don't what all of those are," he began slowly. "But I do know that the Garans are rumored to have strong black magic on their side."

Alim was so shocked he nearly fell off the horse. "Y-you have things to repel...black magic?!" he cried incredulously.

Alim gaped, utterly speechless. Was this girl...was she serious?!

"Well...I'm sorry...but th-that's..." Alim stammered when he realized she was staring at him. "It's unimaginable, obviously, the power that you have, alright? Why am I not allowed to be shocked?"

((*dies of strangulation*))

"What is that?" Alim said warily. This was too many surprises for one day...

Alim seriously considered jumping off the horse. This girl was getting a bit strange for him...

"Wh-what demonstration?" he said, all the while calculating if he could survive jumping from the horse when it was going this fast.

Alim looked warily at her. "Show me," he said, not sure whether to believe her or not. It could be some sort of trap...

Alim slowly put it around his neck ((that's where it goes, right?)).

Alim gave a startled shout as he tumbled to the ground.

((snap i gotta go))

Alim glared up at her. "You could have at least warned me," he muttered, annoyed, as he got up and dusted himself off.

Alim continued to glare. "If you plan to play childish tricks on me, then I'm going to have to get to Tareesh myself, obviously!" he said angrily.

Alim ignored her comment and tried not to strangle her. Instead he maintained a stony silence as he climbed up onto the horse behind her, begrudgingly taking her proffered hand to do so.

((ha ha nvm i guess i just overlooked that u said she was 13 - sorry, steph :) btw, are there any other members of this group? how come they never RP? it's cool doing it with just u and me, but i've been wondering ;) anyway, gotta go now...RP w/ ya later! :) ))

Still glaring, Alim hung onto Seep for dear life as King sped off. "Girls," he muttered.

Alim sighed. "Can we please get going? We've wasted enough time here already! My friend...my friend could be dead by now."

"I mean, can we travel without any more interruptions now?" Alim said, annoyed. This girl was beginning to - no, she was - grate on his nerves.

Alim gritted his teeth. "Thank you," he said. ((steph, i'm gonna go for now - sorry :l ttyl!))

Alim swallowed, trying to inwardly push down his fear. "There it is," he said softly. Then, even more softly, he said, "I'm coming, Ryder . . . I'm coming." He knew his friend couldn't hear him, but for some reason he felt he had to say it out loud.

Alim all but choked. "Fly?!" he exclaimed. Maybe he should just leave Seep and her strange horse now while he was still in one piece . . .

((sure!!!! ha ha oh my WORD, steph - i TOTALLY forgot about this RP!!! well, nooooooo duh, raven. x) SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO sorry!!!! but anyways yeah, kat! you totally can! steph, are you even still in this group? i thought you left but your name doesn't say deleted member by it . . . idk. i think she might left awhile back, kat, but i'd love to RP w/ u! let's just hope i do it faster than when me and steph were RPing . . . x) :) and it could end up just being me and you . . . coz no one else but me and steph has ever really gotten on here before (the RP, that is) . . . at least i don't think they have . . . ))
