Emily (emilyorates) This is my first post in this group. In 2013 I read 38, in 2014 I randomly read 48 (not including a few rereads), so in 2015, why not go up 10 more?
I'm currently reading Julian Barnes - Levels of Life and Jonathan Lethem - the Disappointment Artist
(and rereading Harry Potter here and there!)

(Haha, I also reread Harry Potter here and there.)

What did you think of Lena's book? I don't know much about her, but I know she's a pretty irreverent, controversial comedian.

Emily (emilyorates) Thanks!
I enjoyed it. Even though she and I don't actually have that much in common, I could relate to a lot of what she said. It was insightful and funny, even if sometimes I got exasperated. People love to hate her, but I'm grateful to her for changing the dialogue we have about women.

Cassandra | 5832 comments Way to go, Emily! What did you think of Divergent?

message 14: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilyorates) Thanks! I normally read books before I see the movie, but this time I saw the movie first, so that also shaped my opinion. I enjoyed the story but didn't love the writing. That said, I'm planning to start Insurgent soon. Have you read it?

message 15: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 5832 comments Nope, but it's sitting on the bookshelf next to me. I hope to get to it before too long.

I have the same problem. My son actually bought it for me (a very thoughtful gift from a 12 year old) because he wanted me to read the series with him. We did that with the Hunger Games. Every time I look at it, I have "bad mom" guilt.

Jackie B. - Death by Tsundoku (reiwing2040) | 1343 comments Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is on my TBR, but I just can't seem to pick it up. I think this is due to a lack of exposure to feedback from readers.

What did you think of it?

You can't pick it up because of a lack of reader feedback? What about it do you want to know? I enjoyed it. If you like dark humor and YA, check it out.

It's not lack of feedback which is stopping me-- it's all the feedback about other great books I could be reading instead. I'm just as motivated to pick up something I've heard little about, instead of books my favorite reviewers are raving about.
