Ah, that's okay... anyway, I am going to start it later today.

I have one other buddy read so I haven't started yet either. I'd hoped to start early but that didn't happen. I'm starting tonight.

I just finished chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ this book is starting so well... there is so much action!!!
I am so curious to know who is the traitor.. but I'm sure it's not Clarisse. I'm dying to know what Nico's horrible plan is... and these dreams Rachel is having? I have so many questions at the moment... (hide spoiler)]

Chapter one Oh, gosh. Beckendorf. What sucks is that this is really the most face time he's gotten go the series and if dies. This is going to be one of the more somber books in the series since it's already starting with a death.

Chapter five
(view spoiler)[ Okay, first, I'm already sick of the love trianglei with Annabeth, Percy, and Rachel. He's just so thick.
I love that we got to see Poseidon's domain, but I wish who could have gotten a glimpse of what it's normally like when not under siege. It would be great if there were just a novella of Percy spending the summer down there, but I seriously doubt that will happen now.
It's so weird that Clarisse is close with Silena. I would have pegged them for enemies. It's also hard to imagine Clarisse backing out of a right, no matter how wounded her pride is.
I love that Nico has more purpose in this story than just the damaged orphan kid. He was just getting to enough there for a while. <\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5

Chapter 6

(view spoiler)[Paul is such a cool stepdad! "I'm afraid, but it is still awesome." But Ms.Castellan (Luke's mom) is quite creepy; it's like she's possessed or something, and the "gift" sounds more like a curse to me. And the shadow travel time thing, yeah that's amazing. (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 6 (view spoiler)[ I like how this one has jumped straight into the action. Details of the other books have escaped me, so some references are confusing me, but it's okay. I'm glad we got to find out about the prophecy, I've been desperate to know what it says for ages! Although it can't be right, because surely Percy can't die? Right..? (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 10 (view spoiler)[ I'm very confused, it feels like the whole book has led up to this moment, but I'm less than half way through! Typhon has just made it to Manhatten, and that was the big plan that everyone keeps referencing. Surely the battle can't go on for the rest of the book? I like that we're meeting quite a few more people, like Luke's mum, and Achilles and Hestia. I feel like we're getting to learn a lot more about them. Oh, and have I mentioned I love Hades? Definitely my favourite God - equal with Hermes maybe (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Idk why it took me so long to like Nico, but I like him now. He's gone through a good character development, and despite being the son of Hades, I love him to bits (can't wait to be seeing more of him in the Heroes of Olympus series) (hide spoiler)]

I'm up to chapter 14 (view spoiler)[ I can kind of see where Prometheus is coming from. The gods are horrible, especially to their kids. But Kronos plans to take over the whole world, so that's definitely worse. Unless he really does just want Olympus... I am so conflicted! I'm sure Percy will stay on the gods side though. In chapter-1, there is this sentence:

"........carpet, and stateroom had been clawed up and slimed so it looked like the inside of a dragon's throat (and yes, unfortunately, I speak from experience.)......"

I know it's been a year since I read the parts #1-4. So apparently I don't remember much. But I do remember that there was no mention of any dragon in the parts #1-4. So how can Percy speak from experience?

I only remember there was a dragon in book 4 but I don't remember Percy being inside a dragon (it's been a while since I read 1-3)... loool

Yup! Just had a flashback. Wasn't it mentioned in one of the books that a dragon now guarded Thalia's tree? But I don't think Percy ever went down his throat. But I could be wrong. I'm coming back to this series after a long long time.

Did Clarisse ever have an electric spear? And did Percy ever break it? Because he says in chapter-3:

".........Clarisse was still in full battle gear. Her electric spear was strapped to her backl. (Actually, her second electric spear........"

I guess rereading the previous books would have been more prudent. But now since I've already started book five, I will get through it. Because if I quit now, it will be another year before I pick it up!

And Ms. Castellan gave me the creeps. Hestia said that she had an exceptional gift of "sight". I think Rachel's dreams are perhaps the result of more or less the same gift. (hide spoiler)]

Okey, so far I'm liking but (view spoiler)[was it really necesary Beckendorf's death?? It made me feel really bad (hide spoiler)] and Rachel's dreams might look like the future to me but I'm not sure..

Chapter-12 (view spoiler)[Zeus is going to regret his decision so much. He shouldn't hold back Athena and Artemis. Kronos has something up. He will break through Olympus' defenses. And someone please go and slap Hades. If the Gods will remain divided, they'll lose!

I'm liking how everyone's pasts are gradually opening up. There was so much we didn't know about Luke and Nico. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter-18 (view spoiler)[Woohoo!!!!!!! Hades came! Clarisse too! Yyyyaaaayyyyy!!!!!! Now I love that girl so much! And trust Roirdan to add humor to every dangerous fight scene!

The Gods putting aside their differences and not fighting like brats (at least for once!), Kronos defeated, Percy and co. saving the world and getting gifts from their immortal parents, our favorite characters surviving....... Too good to be true, right? So, of course, we just had to get our next Great Prophecy. Hey Riordan, I'm sick of prophecies now! Just give our heroes some peace for once! (hide spoiler)]
