Forever Young Adult Book Club - Columbus, Ohio discussion

Happy New Year, everyone! This month we'll be reading Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith. I'm planning on having us meet more toward the end of the month, I will get out a Doodle poll in the next few days to see what works for everyone.

Good grief, I realized today that we're already almost to 2 weeks in to January. I feel like I entered the Twilight Zone and came out in the future! I have put together the Doodle poll to see which date in the last week of January works best for everyone:

Hey guys, let's do Thursday the 29th, location TBA (suggestions welcome!)! I also solemnly promise to get February straightened out much earlier than I did with January!

I totally messed up. :( I can't make it Thursday because of a school concert. Have fun! Although this book drove me nuts, it would have been fun to discuss it with you. See you in February!

Oh no! Is anyone else besides Lori planning on coming? Lori, if it's just us, I was thinking we could meet at a coffee place somewhere near us? We could also hold off on discussing Grasshopper Jungle until February along with the February book. Although if others who didn't respond to the poll are planning on joining us on Thursday, we'll definitely get together Thursday.

If it's just us, should we wait to meet so we can discuss Grasshopper Jungle with Rachel too?

I think I'm in favor of that. Especially since I had Issues with this book and want to hear hers! since no one else has chimed in yet, I am going to get the Feb thread set up tonight and try to utilize the group broadcast tools and make sure I reach everyone for Feb planning.

I am so sorry I messed up my calendar & this month's meeting. I am starting February's selection right now. :)

It's perfectly fine, I feel like I need to apologize for how lackadaisical I was in setting up January's meeting! That tends to be how January is for me, feeling burned out by the holidays and the winter weather and the sudden realization that we're already a month into the new year and I'm not quite sure where the time went. :)
