Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do.

You’d like to get to know Grace better.

But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.

Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.

Got started a little early as I’m trying to stay on track. Somehow managed to listen through the whole book today at work lol whoops

29% (view spoiler)[Kind of disappointed I was right and Jack is just a psycho. The type of guy who is way too good to be true until you marry him and his true colors shine through. I guess I just don’t understand what’s jacks end game? Is he just a controlling ass or is there more going on? Hoping this gets better and more ‘thrilling.’ It’s like the most exciting thing about this is actually the blurb which basically sums everything up so far lmao. 79% (view spoiler)[😤😤 ugh I’m so frustrated. I love the fact Millie is so smart and sly but damn if I wasn’t pissed at grace for making Millie think she flushed the pills. I get why grace does this but I mean it’s not like Millie’s going to blab to anyone, why can’t that be a secret between them. For goodness sake he made her break her damn leg. Give Millie some vengeance.
Also I’m not finding this all that thrilling or any type of mysterious. Honestly all im hoping at this point is a happy outcome for grace and Millie. Something like karmic retribution that’ll make the lil devil on my shoulder happy as hell lol. (hide spoiler)]

I’m honestly worried and a little anxious because he’s always one step ahead of her. It’s hard to believe he wouldn’t have contingency plans for this. Especially some secret way to get out of that room?!? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Please please don’t let this be a ruse to get her back and trick her lol. Kinda crazy I’m over here really hoping that slime ball is dead 😂 (hide spoiler)]

98% (view spoiler)[Ok I take it back. He’s a goner.... and wow this lady is helping her. Thank you lord this is amazing, good to to know that lady did pick up on graces subtle clues. Not to mention these lies will cement graces innocence. (hide spoiler)]

Done(view spoiler)[Overall that was a letdown. The only saving grace was her annoying friend helping her in the end, honestly that was pretty epic. Really wish this was more of a page turner. In fact more of a psychological thriller at that because to me it didn’t read that way. Jack was just a cuckoo with his own psychological issues who was great at manipulation and putting on an act.

I think I’m frustrated because the overall plot was just not super unique. It’s a story I’ve heard before, usually the heroine escapes and finds love elsewhere, this was just the buildup to that and bam the end. Why didn’t we at least get an epilogue. Especially to see her and Millie happy and free without Jack? Even a better fight or takedown of Jack where she overly outsmarted him the way he always did to her. Just drugging him and locking him in the room just was kind of blah. But on that note I had a flashback about that poor puppy so I hope like hell jack suffered like crazy. (hide spoiler)]
