Lynxie | 10 comments Hi all,

Just released my first kinky erotic novelette, Wanted for Pleasure, Trained for Sin and had the cover done by someone who has 100 erotic stories released on Amazon.

Grateful for your thoughts and comments.

Wanted for Pleasure, Trained for Sin cover

Ed Morawski | 54 comments Sorry - this cover does nothing for me.
Don't like the photo, there's no eroticism in it.

Personally I think the title font is too big, Although the actual title is catchy.

The 'S' in sin is unrecognizable. It looks like 'jin' to me.

G.R. Paskoff (grpaskoff) | 2 comments I disagree with Ed about the photo. I like the common red elements and think they pull it together. But I absolutely agree with him about the choice of fonts, and even placement/spacing of the words. That 's' has got to go.

Try mixing it up a little. Capitalize and enlarge the first letters in the words Pleasure and Sin. And you can even let those letters overlap the white text more. Maybe make the font size of 'Wanted for' and 'Trained for' smaller so that 'Pleasure' and 'Sin' stand out more.

Finally, just my opinion, but I would do something to set your name apart from the title. It is just too close. It could be the spacing. It could be the font. Experiment with how it would look if your name were at the top. Or move the title up a bit?

Lynxie | 10 comments Thanks for your thoughts.

Are either of you big erotic fiction readers?

Ed Morawski | 54 comments Read it and write it - although not the romantic variety.

The word 'trained' implies a slave arrangement while 'wanted' implies an escort/protitute.

I just don't think the image is strong enough for either. I'd be glad to read it and without knowing the story here are some ideas.

Woman shot from back wearing handcuffs or bindings.A variation of this would be a nude woman shot from behind with handcuffs looking over her shoudler at the reader with the red lips.

Female legs in fishnet or black stockings in shackles.

Same photo as you have now but with actual chains wrapped around her body.

Amazon has some rather interesting rules on the use of binding/handcuffs on covers. Some books have them and have no trouble, others get banned.

The same with chains and shackles.

As for your comments on the words 'trained' and 'wanted' ... the story has a sexual slavery element in the way of a slave auction, which ties into both of your explanations and thoughts on the words.

As my story has elements that could be construed, although not actually the case, as forced slavery I stayed well away from any sort of image depicting being forced on the cover.
