Good one and may I add that if you have Kindle Unlimited you can borrow the book and add Audible narration for just $3.95!

I may do the free month of kindle unlimited just to load up on cheap Whispersyncs.
It's totally worth it. Make sure you have change saved up. I went a bit crazy. You can even find some free ones ;)
If you do the Unlimited thing, Eleven, you can get audible The Pines Trilogy by Blake Crouch and read and listen for free. I have got several good deals that way.

I believe when you return the book it gets removed from your library. You can have up to 10 Unlimited books at once, then need to return 1 for every one you try and add. You can pick which of the 10 you want to return though.

I have free books coming out of my ass already but audio books are still pricey without the Whispersync option.
Audio books are sometimes super pricey. Occasionally, I will pick up the ebook just to get the deal on the audio version because even buying both is still way cheaper than buying just the audio. Figure that one out.

A bad narrator can kill a good book and sometimes you get what you pay for on cheap audio books but there are some good ones out there. These are a few cheap or free books I upgraded to audio for about $2 and was happy with, both the story and the narrator. On the Lips of Children
Cannibal Corpse, M/C
Pines
No Such Thing as Werewolves
The Bird Eater
I'll post others when I remember them or come across more. It beats paying $15 per month for one book straight from Audible.
Hey Nikki and Gang...I hope this is not out of line to post here. If it is, I apologize, and will delete immediately. But here's a pretty damn good deal.Three vouchers for a FREE download of the audio-book version of MILK-BLOOD , and instructions on how to redeem. First come, first serve.

if you live in TN, we have the READS system. I'm not sure if other states have something similar. http://tennessee.libraryreserve.com/D...

That's a front-end to Overdrive's system, which is available in many libraries through the US. Ebook and audiobook selection varies per library, so if you have multiple libraries near you, I suggest checking to see if the different libraries have different Overdrive inventories. Overdrive has a more mainstream selection than Amazon's Kindle Unlimited selection, which can be a disadvantage if you prefer works from independent authors.
http://www.audible.com/pd/Kids/Clockw...Clockwork by Philip Pullman is 99 cents today at audible. I'm posting from my tablet so sorry if the link doesn't work.
Free: quality audio of At the Mountains of Madness. My Rue Morgue newsletter fed it to me and it sounds excellent. I usually have to read Lovecraft but this is well produced. https://iangordon.bandcamp.com/album/...
oh no....idk if I want to get this or not. I have not read mountains of madness. I was waiting for Guillermo del Toro to make his movie. i just don't know...

Tough to convert that story to film but del Toro could pull it off if anyone can.

"At the Mountains of Madness" was already made into a movie in 2004. It was called "Alien Vs. Predator".
I found a (so far) good recording of paradise lost on iTunes. I've only listened to the first part but i liked it. here's the link if anyone else is interested:https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/p...

Hi Nikki and fellow aficianados, The audiobook for Bad Wolf is finally available. But it needs some reviews. I have 5 promo-codes for anyone interested. Send me a message.
Thanks,
Tim
Bad Wolf
I recently joined Scribd, which is netflix for books. Small fee per month and unlimited to read/listen to. I've only listened to one so far, but the quality was great. They have a free 30 day trial if you want to check them out.
I signed up for this email a few weeks back and there is some quality content. They offer three categories.
- listen and review (similar to NetGalley)
- sale priced
- whispersync
You can pick your genres and I've been getting one email a week.

Hey Tim, it's still new to me, but there is a good selection of horror to choose from...more print than audio, by far. I do have to supplement, but if I'm comparing it to netflix for media, it's very similar. So far, I'm enjoying it.
