I was honestly kind of annoyed with him at the beginning

But it got better as the books went by

Oh yeah, the first book he was pretty mean sometimes.

I'm glad these characters all grew as the series progressed.

I like how he matured in his friendship with Clary. I mean, at first he hated her, but in later books they were fighting side by side.

alec is probably one of my favorite shadowhunter characters- while he comes off as cold and rude, he's really soft on the inside (plus he has reasons to be acting the way he did at first.) and his character arc.... *chefs kiss*
