I am enjoying how each chapter focuses on one or two characters and really fleshes their backstory out

I am having trouble settling to read again, but hope to start this soon. Especially since it's a library e-book so I am on a time frame.

I did not - this is my first book by her. My wife has read some of her others and enjoyed them. So far, she continues to enjoy this one as well!

I hope this is one you enjoy and don't DNF!

My wife and I discussed the characters last night after we finished up our listening session.
It adds to my thoughts above. Not only does each chapter focus on one or two characters, each one it told from a different viewpoint and it is fun to hear the author switch perspective and character from man to woman to old to young.

I always enjoy that kind of storytelling when it's done well. It gives you a more rounded view of the situation.

Awesome - yes, my wife and I always give each other a smile and a knowing look when a Francis chapter starts!

She's a hoot! I also think I may end up liking Lars. I do NOT like Jessica and I don't think I will like Ben, but maybe.
Frances was fun. I wanted to know more about Lars. I felt like he didn't get enough page time. I also liked Napoleon but that may be because he sounds like my type: tall, kinda nerdy, reads all the instructions, very chatty, and deeply compassionate. To which I also wanted more about Zoe and Heather.
I found Carmel a bit obnoxious. I couldn't stand Ben or Jessica. I thought Tony being a former athlete was an interesting addition.
Masha's backstory was a bit confusing. What was the purpose of Delilah? Should I have cared that she just ran off? Yao to me was just kind of there. Again, I felt like he needed more page time for me to care about him.

I do agree that the Masha storyline (and those closely associated with her) was probably the least fleshed out - leaving me with the most questions.
