"Come on Emma, we only have 30 minutes before our flight takes off. Talk about cutting it close" Evelyn complained.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." Emma replied. The girls raced to the gate just in time. "Wait, will our gear get through the security check point?" Evelyn questioned

"Heh. It's pretty glamoured. Nothing will notice it, I swear!" The girls speeded through the security checkpoint and to their gate. They boarded quickly, and found their seats. Emma visibly relaxed once she was seated, her head resting on the window. "Nothing can bother us while we're up her on the air, Evie. It's why I love to fly so much." Evelyn didn't respond, so Emma turned to see her friend horror-stricken and pale faced. She looked towards in the direction Evelyn was staring at, and saw the smirking face of the scar-faced man.

As they boarded the plane Evelyn noticed how calm Emma was. (How is she so calm, anyone could of spotted us. Ugg, it's your fear talking again, you have got to stay chill, calm find a sense of....... Uh-oh. Did Emma see him, no she is so chill right now, how could she have seen him. Maybe it's my imagination.(turned around again) Nope not imagination NOT IMAGINATION) Evelyn quickly darted back behind her seat. "Yeah Em's, Nothing can bother us now. Do you think he saw us?" Both girls turned around and saw the man with a a smug smile on his face looking right at them. "I think he saw us." Emma replied "What do we do now?" Evelyn asked in a quiet panic.

Emma pushed Evelyn behind her arm.
"What do you want with us? Why do you have Evie's family? Why do you want to hurt me? Just- you know what? I'm done."
Evelyn, almost too fast for a human to see, grabbed a dagger from her shoe and threw it straight towards the djinn's heart. The djinn smirked, and used his red magic to turn it around and place the dagger against Evelyn's throat, and to push Emma against the wall of the plane. He also put a red shield of magic around their row, erasing it from the view of mundanes.
"Ah-ah-ah'" the scar-faced man said. "Don't go throwing any more knives, nephilim, or your pretty friend dies."

Evelyn just glared at the djinn. "Awwww, so you think I'm pretty? Well could a pretty girl do this?" Evelyn grabbed a Pen from her pocket and threw it behind the djinn. " Your going to regret throwing things." he replied as the dagger was almost touching Evelyn's skin. "Actually you are going to regret picking up that pen." At that exact moment he bent over to pick up the pen. "Emma, we will have exactly 3 seconds to grab our bags and run. Ready.........3.....................2.......................1................NOW!"

The djinn's magic pushed Emma against the wall of the airplane as she tried to leap. The magic crushed her, and she could barely breathe.
"Go ahead, girl. Leave. I have no quarrel with you, mutant. Run away quickly, without your Nephilim friend, and you will not be bothered by me again in your life."

Emma sucked in a shaky breath. She felt the energy pushing against her rib cage, trying to crush it. The magic snaked itself around her bones, her veins, her heart. It was trying to consume her. It wrapped itself around her spinal cord, reaching up, up. It pushed against her brain. Emma tried to breathe, but she couldn't. The was no air. She needed to breathe. To breathe. The red was trying to take over her head, her thoughts, her stories. No. No. NO. There was no air. Emma saw white spots in her vision. She would not let the red take her. She pushed against the red, pushed for the air. She closed her eyes. The air was gone. She saw her mom, and light, and life. She saw the universe being created, and life forming, and saw herself. She heard a voice. Emma. You have done well. You can see now, truly see. She saw Mina being born, and Livia Blackthorn's ghost trying to become Mina. She saw red magic snaking it's way into Mina's cradle the night after she was born, giving her her illness. She saw herself being born, and light shining in her eyes. You are special. the voice said. You are the bringer of light.

Emma saw a bright flash of light leave her body as she crumpled to the floor. She wasn't inside her body, but rather, a ghost watching from above. The red magic hissed away from the light, and disappeared into a puff of smoke when it hit. The djinn fell, awestruck, and bowed his head. Evelyn ran over to Emma's body, crying. Suddenly, Emma felt a tug, and suddenly found herself back in her own body. There was light behind her closed eyelids, but a cold darkness quickly overtook Emma, pulling her down, down, down.

(Why was he letting us go so easily?) Evelyn thought. Any minute the pen would burst into a cloud of laughing gas. "Ok Emma, NOW! Evelyn started to take off but saw the djinn's magic leave Emma and her friend crumple to the floor. Not caring if scar-face was there, she rushed to Emma. " No Emma, please, no. Emma, Emma, EMMA!!!" Evelyn was shaking her trying to see if she would respond. She remembered a trick she used at the tower when Peter fainted. She used her power to connect with the brain and bring peter back to conciseness. (I hope this works for Emma.) Evelyn took in a shaky breath and concentrated. She sent a pulse of energy through Emma. Nothing at first, but then she heard Emma's breathing return to normal. Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief, but she turned around and saw Scar-face making a run for it. Evelyn let out a full rage blast of lightning and power on him. He fell unconscious to the ground, outside the plane. The red magic shield fell, revealing both girls. Concerned passengers asked what happened. She thought quick to come up with an excuse. "My sister was putting our bags in the compartment overhead and a heavy bag fell on her head." Evelyn explained through sobs. "This has never happened before. I'm really scared." A friendly flight attendant asked "Sweetie, where are your parents?"
"My Aunt dropped us off at the airport, we are headed back to L.A. Our Grandma is waiting for us there. We live with her."
"Ok dear, why don't you call your Grandma and explain the delay while we get your sister some help." The flight attendant gave her a phone to call on. Evelyn pretended to dial and have a conversation with her" grandma". When she finished she headed where Emma was. She lowered her voice so only Emma could hear. " Please come back to me Emma, please be ok."

Emma awoke to see Evelyn standing over her. She rubbed her head, wondering how she had gotten onto the floor. Suddenly, she remembered everything. The djinn, and the magic, and the light, and the voice. She rubbed her head.
"Evie? I was out of my body, and looking at everything happen. The red magic was trying to control me, but then there was a bust of white light. Did you see it? There was also a voice- in my head, telling me that I had done well. It told me that now I'd be able to truly see. And I did. I saw the universe being created, and the beginning of life, and the reason why Mina is so sick. I saw myself being born. I saw the light coming out of my body as I slumped to the floor. And then the voice told me that I was the bringer of light. Then I came back, and woke up. But did you see the light? It's what man the scar-faced man fall and the red magic disappear. But could you see?"

At first Evelyn just stared at her. Coming out of her daze she wrapped Emma in a bug bear hug. "Oh, Emma. I'm soo happy you are ok. Evelyn straightened up and dried her eyes and listened to what Emma was saying. Evelyn hesitated before answering. "I can't exactly explain WHAT I saw back there, it was.......I think I saw...................(sigh) I...don't know. But, I do know that that guy knew where we were going and was ready for us." Evelyn's expression changed as the flight attendant walked over. "Thank goodness she is ok."
" Yes." Evelyn replied. Then she remembered that they still had to get to L.A. "Has the plane left yet? She asked urgently.
"They will in 2 minutes. We could only delay them for 15 minutes."
"Thank you." Evelyn said "Ok, Emma do you think you can walk ?"
Emma nodded. " We have 2 minutes before take off, lets go."

Emma's head suddenly pounded, and she dropped to the floor. She saw the light again, and saw the djinn man's cruel smile. The djinn had disappeared, and his red magic along with him.
"Evie," Emma whispered, almost inaudible. "Tell them there's a medical emergency, and that I need to go home, to get my medicine. Evie nodded and rushed to the nearest flight attendant. The flight attendant took a look in Emma's direction, and her face blanched. Emma was on the floor, grabbing her head, her eyes closed. Her runes weren't glamoured. The flight attendant grabbed their bags, and another one grabbed Emma and carried her off the plane. Evelyn walked behind. Emma sat down on one of the seats positioned in the gate.
"Evie, I don't know what's happening. I see things now, that I didn't see before, even with my Herondale-perfect sight. There are so many things. I don't know if it's gonna change me, and if I'm gonna be able to battle the djinn if it comes again. What do I do?"

(What to do, what to do!!!) Evelyn thought (Come on Eve, think..... what could you do. No, What WOULD you do..............Uuuuuuum, I would first see if it works, then move some parts around, take it apart...NO, that's for machines, this is Emma and we need a plan fast..ok,ok, first identify the problem...........Easy, Emma is seeing things..........Next, ask a question....She already did that already that's why I'm thinking!! HMMMMMM, you could try the mind trick that Wanda uses, the one that makes you see things, but you need to focus.. )
"Ok, Ems, I have a plan but first, we both relax and have an open mind, I'm going to try something." Evelyn laid her hand on Emma's shoulder, closed her eyes and focused her thoughts to a peaceful place.

Emma suddenly saw blue waves radiate off of Evelyn.
"Umm . . . Evie? You're doing magic. It's . . . pretty. But I can see it."

"At this point I don't care who knows, we got to get you feeling better and back on the plane to L.A." Evelyn concentrated harder, the waves radiated to their natural purple glow and grew into a circle around Emma and Evelyn. By this moment the people that helped the girls, were backing up and running. "Emma, I think I can make the sight/visions from the djinn go away, but you have to trust me into your mind."

"Evie. They weren't from the djinn. There is something that has been watching me since I was born, that gave me a gift. I can see things now. Things maybe even people with the best Sight can't. I won't let you take it away. I feel like it might help me."

(Maybe the headaches are part of the process, did I have to go through that? No, you were born with them............Oh yeah)

"What kind of things CAN you see Ems? Does it help give us an answer on whose behind everything and why they are after us?" Evelyn asked

"I think magic. I saw a blinding flash of light take out the red magic, and make the djinn fall. And then I saw yours coming out of you when you were trying to calm me down. The only thing is that the light that took out the djinn came from me. I was sort of floating above everything, like a ghost, and I saw it. I'm a Shadowhunter. The only magic I'm supposed to be able to work is runic magic. If the Clave knew about this . . . they would lock me up in the Silent City forever."

"Then we have to make sure that doesn't happen. If you can learn to control that magic then Clave would see you aren't dangerous with it. Plus I think it could help us find out who is behind everything that has happened."

"Yeah. That makes sense. Although we minus well not tell the Clave anything. Lex mala lex nulla. A bad Law is no Law. The Blackthorn family motto, but still true! Anyways, we still need to find the Dirty Dog. We can't fly because of the djinn, or drive since we're in New York and we're going to L.A. Portals can be tracked, so those are out of the question too. What should we do?"

"I'm not a hundred percent certain but, I think I can get a hold of one of the Quinjets if everything isn't in lock down. I can put the jet in stealth mode so they can't track us. The only tricky part, is getting onto the platform with out questions. Only the Avengers and a few selected agents actually have access to it. But who said anything about asking for clearance." Evelyn said with a playful smile. I can get us up there but you have to hold on tight, I have mostly mastered flying with my powers. Are you ready?

"I guess. Let's go!"
