I rated it 3 stars too. I thought it was fun and entertaining. I liked that it was so vastly different than his other book... other than the whole being in space thing.

I wouldn't have liked it as much in print, but if it weren't for her foul mouth I'd have given it 4 stars. I can take a few in certain places, of course, but she just cusses all the time. No wonder GR friends gently steered me away from this. Still, he's a very good writer.

I do remember the story pulling me in and enjoying the writing. I also liked the Martian better. But then I'm a science geek and there was a lot more science in it.
3 stars for me also. I was a little disappointed in this one after loving The Martian so much. I recommend The Egg by Weir. Its very very show. About 8 pages. Very existential.

The writing is good, the audiobook very well done, but the language is far worse than I like and brought this down more than one star.
