Karin | 9277 comments Jazz Barhara is a petty criminal living on the moon. She is brilliant, but after some very bad choices as a teen, she lives life as a courier who also does some minor smuggling on the side. However, she gets an opportunity to perform a crime she first turns down, but when she hears the price, she changes her mind. Her life's goal has been to become rich and this fee will get her well on her way. But this venture is a high risk one, and I won't even tell you as much as the blurb.

The writing is good, the audiobook very well done, but the language is far worse than I like and brought this down more than one star.

I liked The Martian a great deal better, but did like that this one was different. I wouldn't have liked it as much in print, but if it weren't for her foul mouth I'd have given it 4 stars. I can take a few in certain places, of course, but she just cusses all the time. No wonder GR friends gently steered me away from this. Still, he's a very good writer.

Yea... I don't remember why I only gave it 3 stars. I do remember the story pulling me in and enjoying the writing. I also liked the Martian better. But then I'm a science geek and there was a lot more science in it.

Jason Oliver | 3067 comments 3 stars for me also. I was a little disappointed in this one after loving The Martian so much.

I recommend The Egg by Weir. Its very very show. About 8 pages. Very existential.
