While the glittering sheets of water subside,
The golden sun glances out hopefully.
It strains to be noticed,
Despite the obstruction of the remaining drops.
The light dances along the petals of a lone flower,
Casting brilliant hues on its sad, dejected form.
The flower, drowned in rainbow,
Proves to be the most captivating sight to behold.
When given attention, it blooms and displays its plumage,
Ensnaring all who encounter it.

Rhys (inkbottleburning) | 314 comments I've been looking over my old poems, and I've realized that My writing has gotten a lot stronger, yet they're all obviously by the same person.

You'll usually find the more you write the better it gets. The more you read, the more ideas you get about making writing better (or how not to do it - depending on the book) and then you just work at it.

Love this poem, by the way!
