Ever, Ainsley, and Marigold strolled in. A witch with an overly excited smile on her face walked over to them. "Do you need anything, girls?" she asked in a syrupy sweet voice. "I don't think so..." Marigold looked at her friends. The witch's shoulders drooped, but the plastered smile stayed. "I think I'm going to go over here," Marigold said, pointing to a dress she had been eyeing.
Ever wandered over to the dress robes section. "Oh, this one's nice," she said, holding up a pretty set of midnight-blue robes.
Marigold looked over at Ever and the robes she was holding up. "Ooh, it is!" She spotted a yellow-orange robes set and held it up to herself. "I like this," she said. "It matches my name."
"It does," Ever said, smiling. She held the midnight robes up to herself. She set them down and kept looking through the rack. "I do want something really nice, though; I mean, the Yule Ball only happens once. I'm so indecisive."
"Yeah," Marigold draped the marigold yellow robes over her shoulder and kept looking. "I guess I hadn't thought about that."
Marigold flipped through the rack until she found a knee length dark teal robe. She looked back and forth between the two robes she had picked out. She draped the teal robe on top of the marigold yellow robe. "I'm going to go try these on." She walked over to the dressing room and came out wearing the yellow lace robe.
"Ooh, that's pretty!" Ever exclaimed. "It's nice with your hair." She picked out a satiny silver-blue dress.
Marigold smiled and strolled back into the dressing room and put on the teal robe. She looked in the mirror at the knee length halter top dress. The witch from before, still smiling, asked, "Do you girls need help with anything?" Marigold shook her head. The witch, who's name tag read Phyllis went back to the corner, watching them. Marigold frowned. "Is that weird? Or am I being crazy?" She whispered.
Ainsley, who had been quiet the whole time, finally spoke up.
"Yeah, that is quite weird," she whispered back to Marigold.
A white dress caught Ainsley's eye. She went over to it and held it up to her chin.
It was about knee length, and it was very pretty. She took it to the changing room and tried it on. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled to herself. This is the dress she thought.

Marigold raised her eyebrows and smiled. "That's really nice, Ainsley!"
Ainsley smiled. "Thanks! I love that yellow dress by the way! Which one are you going to choose?"
Ainsley changed back out of the dress and paid for it.
"Are you going to ask someone to the ball?"
"Are you going to ask someone to the ball?"
Marigold blushed and shrugged. "I think I'm going to get the yellow dress," She put the teal robes back on the rack. "And I don't know yet, are you going to ask someone?"
Ever went into the changing room with the two dresses. She came out wearing the midnight-blue one, which was ankle length and fit to the waist. It had a pretty layered style to the shoulders and silver embroidery. "What do you think?"
"I really like that, Ever! And, I may ask Jack, but I don't know." Ainsley answered both questions.
Ever frowned. "I don't know if I want to ask anyone, couldn't I just go alone? Or with you two if you don't ask anyone?" she called, going back into the changing room with the silver dress. It was floor-length and had sequins along the neckline. It was off-the-shoulder and more like a Muggle gown, and a bit more daring than the other one. "Which one is better?" she asked. She liked them both.
Ainsley looked at the dress on Ever. "It looks more like a Muggle gown. I think I like the first one better."
Ever turned to Marigold. "What do you think?"
Marigold payed for the dress. "I think they're both beautiful, although I do like the midnight blue color on you. But both are amazing."
"I'll get the midnight one, then," Ever said, smiling. She went and paid for the dress.
"Woof," Marigold counted her remaining money. "That dress was expensive. Could we stop at Twilfitt and Tatting's? I need some dress shoes."
"Yeah, I want to find shoes and accessories to go with my outfit," Ever said happily. She was so excited for the Yule Ball.
Marigold smiled. "Oh," her smile faltered. "I'm going to need somebody to tame this hair." She pulled a kinky strand of hair out of her ponytail and brushed it behind her ear. "Maybe my mom can do it? She isn't very good at it, though."
Marigold snapped. "Of course! Someone Madam Primpernelle's could probably do my hair the night before!"
"What about those hair potions? The ones that help smooth out your hair - for real, not just Muggle products. Sleekeazy's is supposed to be really gold for that," Ever replied.
Marigold nodded. "Well, Madam Primpernelle's has that; my mom buys it there. They would probably need to use it on my hair before doing anything to it."
Ever smiled. "Maybe we could make it a girls' day," she said. "Go and get primped before the Ball."
"Yes!" Marigold pushed open the door to Twilfitt and Tatting's.
