I thought it was a fun read but it could have been so much more.

It's okay... I wish they would explain the world a little bit better. Also it seems like Iolanthe can do no wrong she is good at everything other than callling air that is.

Okay wait now I am confused... He is in the Crucible book where things aren't real but it can be used like a portal to take him to real places to face the real Helgira?... But I thought they said she wasn't real just a myth? So lost.

He used the book as a portal which makes everything in the book real once you go inside. There are four books in all existence and those are the places he can travel. Each books has a different entrance and one entrance happens to be where Helgira is at. She was real once upon a time long ago but what is found in the book is only a likeness of her.

Oh okay yea I was confused on why they could get hurt now even when still in the book

How did you guys like it... Other than the romance aspect?

The romance got it all the stars to be honest. The idea of the world building seemed so amazingly awesome had it been more fleshed out. Man it would have been incredible.
Also those villians kinda felt flat to me. Sucky villians that never inficted any kind of terror on me. Idk, they should have been crueler or something.

How about you?

Okay I am not the only one who thought that also. These evil villains don't really do anything through out the story that makes them evil so to speak. Other than the inquisitor terrorizing Titus's mind but that was all.

I did like the added footnotes kind of kept it interesting.

The villains had no real threat and it never felt like the characters had any hardship. For being "oppressed", they sure had a lot of freedoms. Big marriage parties, unfettered magic is, no mention of people being beaten or enslaved...

Exactly I was like why is the Bane so evil? And even when they went to the Inquisitory, or whatever that building was called, it didn't seem to be full it just seemed to house that one woman and the guy that took care of Iolanthe. You would think that thing would be full if they were so evil.
