A short thread for this week... what are you reading?

I took advantage of 3 days off and knocked out two books and eight manga over the weekend. Trying to reduce my library book pile, lol. Hoping to finish Chosen Ones and All American Boys in the next two days.

Tell us what you're reading!

Chosen Ones (The Chosen Ones, #1) by Veronica Roth All American Boys by Jason Reynolds

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I finished Pride and Prejudice, which I liked but didn't love. I'm curently reading Meg and Jo by Virginia Kantra, and as many graphic novels as I can snap up on Hoopla. After I finish Meg and Jo, I've got too start reading my library books, not books that I own.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Meg and Jo by Virginia Kantra

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments I just finished The Regrets by Amy Bonnafonns which was different then other books I’ve read. It’s hard to even know what to say about it. It’s a quick read though if you want to see.
Crescent City was really good. It’s one of the top reads for the summer or maybe it was for the beginning of 2020. It’s a murder mystery and the characters are angels, fairies, wolves. It was a huge book at I think 795 pages. I enjoyed the writing.
The Blaze was a good one & fairly quick read. It is written by Chad Dundas. A man with amnesia from a concussion goes back to the town he grew up in after his dad dies & gets caught up in an old case & a current murder.
Currently I am reading The Sandman by Lars Keller. It’s a series set in Stockholm Sweden. My father is from Sweden & we have traveled there so I like to incorporate places I’ve been into my reading. I am sucked right into this detective mystery!
Hope everyone stays cool the next few days.

Zachary | 47 comments I'm continuing in my self care regimen of one "serious" book, usually nonfiction, paired with a "beach" read, which if you know my ginger skin tone usually is a "covered back porch" read. This week it was John Bolton's "the Room where it happened" paired with Michael Connelly's The Night Fire. Whenever the serious read is just too much, I can switch to Harry Bosch and detective Renee Ballard solving cold cases together.
