Jessica (jollybookshelf) Welcome Amanda!! :)

I plan on reading Coraline as well. I saw the movie and it gave me nightmares. Literally. And I was about 19 when I saw it. Creepy stuff!!

message 3: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 22 comments Thanks, Jessica! I was debating between that or City of Ember, but chose to go with the one that wasn't a series. Plus, I think I have yet to read anything by Neil Gaiman, so it was perfect. And yes, the movie was pretty creepy! But so good.

I'm still figuring out my list...some things are so hard to decide on.

message 4: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jollybookshelf) Ah! City of Ember is also on my to-read list. I'll probably end up reading multiple books on some weeks just because I can't make up my mind. :)

Amanda (zmobie) | 22 comments Haha, I'm debating it. If I can find the time. I'm doing monthly reading challenges (plus an A-Z challenge) in another group, so I've got a lot to read! I'll fit in things where I can, but I know it'll be tough.

My husband tells me I'm not going to reach my goal, because I'm a huge procrastinator. And he's probably right. But I can try to prove him wrong!

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments I really want to read Coraline. Like Jessica, the film kind of scared me. A couple of years ago I watched it at Halloween and ended up having to watch the least scary thing in our collection to uncreep myself (least scary thing being Disney's Tinkerbell movie, hehe).

Hope you enjoy the book. I'm a massive fan of Neil Gaiman, I'd heartily recommend The Ocean at the End of the Lane which is my favourite of his books.

message 7: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 22 comments Oh noo! At least you were able to get yourself uncreeped out. I'm really looking forward to reading the book.

I have some of his books, but I'm not sure I have that one. I'll look into it, though! Thanks.

I need to figure out the rest of my books still...but I'm working on my first two still. (Well, just started Hush, Hush today).

message 8: by Cait (new)

Cait (clickcait) | 480 comments I'm still adding to my list as I spot more books on my shelves which fit into various weeks. I nearly jumped for joy the other day when I realised that The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud would work as my book with antonyms in the title. ;-)

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (zmobie) | 22 comments I was discussing some of this with my mom today, and we finally figured out a book she loves that I'd like to read again (I read it...14?+ years ago)...Lord of the Flies. And I'm working on figuring out more. Might change some of these up a bit, too.

I'm still reading my week one book, but finished week two (plus two sequels, and now I'm on the last of the series). Ready to read week three and continue reading week one. Among all the other books I'm reading for other group challenges, I've got a lot to get through!
