Soon it was an outbreak. As that kid got his friends sick and they got their parents sick, the couch turned from a cough to sneezing and puking blood, and contractions, and body spasms, nothing you ate or drank would stay down, and eventually you reached death.
Many people would kill themselves if they got it. If you were with the plague, you were already as good as dead. They didn't want that torturous week of pure agony. Better to have a quick death.
From news stories to YouTube videos, word spread. Doctors and scientists tried to create a cure. One was found in a rare rainforest flower. It was so limited they only injected those under the age of 16. They needed the world to continue. Slowly the adults died off, and the children were left alone to dig mass graves.
Nobody knew about the radioactivity of that flower. Some people reacted to it, others didn't. If you did react to it, it was either by developing a super power or by dying. It's been four years since the injections. Who has a power?}
