It's to have some fun summer reads- YA/ and Middle Grades-basically any books written for kids from 8 to 16 and grown-ups of all ages. 😉

Happy Reading!

Badlydone | 195 comments I am planning to read The Dragonfly Effect by Gordon Korman. This is the last in The Hypnotists series (can also be read as stand alones) by the author. I enjoyed the first book, but did not like the second as much. I look forward to reading the concluding book.

Dubhease | 95 comments I'm going to read The Council of Mirrors, the last Sisters Grimm book.

I just finished a fun Middle Grades read-The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1203 comments Finished Dream Factory - it was okay, I just think I'm not the target demographic for this one...

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1203 comments Finished Crazy House - I liked it and I will probably read the next one just to see where the story goes, but it was not on a par with The Hunger Games, the book that I see it compared to.

Brenda | 474 comments Taking another YA off my TBR and reading Dorothy Must Die.

message 13: by Badlydone (new)

Badlydone | 195 comments Finished The Dragonfly Effect by Gordon Korman. A good ending to The Hypnotists series. Not as good as the first book, but better than the second in the series.

message 14: by Tr1sha (new)

Tr1sha | 831 comments I read Sara Crewe: or, What happened at Miss Minchin's boarding school by Frances Hodgson Burnett which is very sweet. Apparently it is the shorter original version of the Little Princess.

Stig of the Dump by Clive King was a fun interesting read.

I highly recommend I Rode a Horse of Milk White Jade by Diane Lee Wilson, a historical novel set in Mongolia.

message 18: by Tr1sha (last edited Jul 24, 2020 02:32AM) (new)

Tr1sha | 831 comments I read The Selkie Pact by Judith Fullerton. It’s based on traditional folklore according to its description, & set in Northern Ireland. I found it very boring, but those who enjoy fantasy may enjoy it. There are 2 more books in the same series.

Tr1sha | 831 comments I read Heidi. I’d never read it before, but thought it was very sweet.

Heidi is a sweet book, I agree. I have read it a few times, the first time as a child. It was one of the few books I owned.

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1203 comments Finished The Fall of Crazy House - it was a fast read but just okay as a sequel. I have a feeling there is at least one more to come in this series.
