What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The book is likely from the 2000 era. What I remember of it it was about a teenage boy (no parents for some reason) protecting a girl who has wings, but she had not just any wings (a big deal apparently) but human size BEE WINGS. The cover has the "implied" girl on it with the only the wings as the focus, and the entire story is set in a dystopian future were mutation like these wings the girl has can occur. Also the book (or story) is mainly from the teen boys POV rather than the girl with the wings

I waited to comment but since it was the right book, you're welcome! I'm really glad I could help. Not bad for someone who doesn't even own the book, let alone has read it lol It's on my list though. I'm just glad I remember the title off hand. It's definitely the bee wings though, when I read that part I KNEW. I could see the cover clearly in my head.
