"The only suspense in this book for me was if I was ever going to get to the end."HA HA HA, yeah, seriously. We are on the same page with this one, though your review is much more scathing and so fun for me to read.
I did think the author was trying to make a point about the dangers of speculation, but it was pretty weak. And agree that really NO ONE was remotely likable except maybe Maggie's sister. A little.
Just not good.
Oh no! This book has been on my radar for a long time but I will definitely be taking it off my TBR. Ain’t got no time for bad suspense books.
@ Jason, "I thoroughly hated this book," you wrote.I have felt this way before about certain books. I thoroughly loved your review, Jason!

I hated the writing. Short clipped sentences, one after another. I hated the story telling style. Endless biographies. Endless telling me about the people, a bunch of awful people. Showing me nothing. Telling, telling, telling. So much telling and little of the telling actually progressed the story.
I didn't like anyone in the story. I wished all the fictional characters were on the fictional plane that crashed into the ocean. (I do not want any real people to be in a real plane crash)
I found this book to be more of an indictment by the author on people, classes, news stations, and politics he does not like. I'm not saying I do or don't agree with him, but it felt very in your face and absurd. I feel the author was making a point and he used hyperbole to do so.
Not sure I will read any other Noah Hawley anytime soon.
