Pru doesn’t fear Carleton and is persistent in her attempts to get closer to him and make theirs a real marriage. What is your opinion of her and why was she so committed to this man?

I liked Pru. I think she saw that Carleton was a good man who would protect her and the child. She wanted to guarantee he would fight for them. Making a real marriage out of their arrangement and showing him she wanted to stay with him would help.

I liked Pru too. She sees Carlton as a real hero in a very desperate situation.

I think she fell in love that night. Her entire future is tied up with him. He’s her knight in shining armor, he was her first and the father of her child. Also he’s the one that could keep her out of jail.

Yes, to all comments above. Pru knew she was well out of the previous expectations of her and she wanted to build something good for the future. She also knew she was not guilty of murder.
