A book I read last summer (and really enjoyed!) is "City of Girls" by Elizabeth Gilbert! It's a bit explicit and mature but it was an eye-opener about life and exploration and not holding back when the right opportunity presents itself! I absolutely loved this book because of its feminist themes but also because of the historical fiction aspect of it, with the majority of the story being set in the 1940s New York City theatre world.
