Let's Get to Know Each Other! Where are you from? What are some of your favorite books? What are some of your favorite things to do besides reading? Tell us about yourself, whatever you want to share!

I'll start with myself. My name is Jazmen. I've always loved reading. I grew up reading. I started reading YA about 2 years ago and I fell in love with it ever since. Maze Runner started me up. I love that series, btw!

I love reading Young Adult, some New Adult, Dystopian, Romance, Contemporary, Non-Fiction and Memoirs.

I'm from New York City but I'm in Jersey for the time being. I love the library, costume jewelry, and old movies. :D

My name is Alexa. I've loved reading ever since I was taught. Reading has been a part of my life for a LONG time. One of my favorites is Beauty Queens. (Go check it out, you'll love it!)
I enjoy YA, Dystopian, some Romance, Chick Flit, Historical Fiction, Manga, Anime, Graphic Novels, Science Fiction, a little Horror (not to scary!), and...Fantasy!

Some other things I do other than reading is writing, playing tennis, taking photos, and learning film and animation. I'm in love with History (especially stuff from back then) and I love the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

I was born in London but I live in NC.

:)

I've always longed to visit London. I'm actually hoping to go this year! God willing. Something about it calls to me!

Film and animation? Interesting!

I'm not a huge horror fan. I'm too scary! :P And imagine that because I was born on Halloween. Lol.

Maribel (mariibel) | 9 comments My name is Maribel, but everyone calls me Mari. I've always loved reading, actually when I was in kinder my teacher was barely teaching the students how to read when I already knew how to. Long story short, she would put me to read books to my classmates. When I started middle school everyone made fun of people who read so I stopped for a while, but then started to read again in high school. The book that got me into reading again was the Lightning Thief, my teacher made us read it. So now I go to college and my major is English. I love scary movies, I haven't seen a movie that has really scared me yet. I was born in El Paso, Texas, and spanish is my native language even though I'm starting to forget it. And yeah that's pretty much it haha.

Lol. I never read Percy Jackson and now I feel like I missed the mark for reading that book. It's cool that you found something to love, especially reading! :)

Sharon (mzsunny1) My name is Sharon. I live in the sunny state of Florida by way of Delaware. I started reading at a young age by reading the sweet valley twins series. I will read anything but my favorite genres are PNR and Mystery. I would love to visit Italy one day. Besides reading I am addicted to Pinterest and Football!

My mother's dream spot is Italy! I hope to take her one day! PNR? I'm drawing a blank.

message 8: by Kassie (new)

Kassie (kassierosie) My name is Kassie, I live in Wisconsin. I began really reading heavily a couple of years ago, about 3-4 years ago I began reading a lot more than I used to. I'm 15. I love reading young adult, fiction and in the past 2 1/2 months I've began reading Jodi Picoult, which is quite strange for a younger reader like me, because I am only 15 years old, since her books are aimed more towards adults or young adults.

message 9: by Alicia (new)

Alicia (firefox9799) | 40 comments I'm Alicia, from Texas. I started blogging in the summer of 2013 when I was 16- I'm almost off to college now. I've been reading obsessively all my life except a period of time in middle school. I have a crazy obsession with Alice in Wonderland and am collecting editions- 8 so far. I also love Graceling, Fire, and Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore.
Other than reading/blogging, I do some writing (not as much as I used to), some video gaming (again, not as much as I used to which wasn't much to begin with), art (I am a polymer clay artist, and I make miniatures and jewelry. I also do needle felting and wire jewelry and other random crafts), piano (for about 10 years), and other random things. I love the cartoon Adventure Time (it's the only show I have watched in entirety; I don't watch TV very much). I also travel a lot- I've been to about 16 countries (will be 17 later this year) and as many states, several countries/states more than one. I've been to my favorite city, Venice, three times and France twice (I'm going to Paris for the first time later this year), the latter time during which I got to practice my French (I'm in French IV at school).
Man, why don't I just write my whole autobiography right here lol

message 13: by Tasnim (new)

Tasnim (tasnimah) | 8 comments Hi... My name is Tasnim, 'Tas' for short (the s is pronounced as a z btw), I live in London. I'm 15 and have recently found a passion for reading. The divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth initially got me hooked, but my favourite book at the moment is a book I recently read which is 'the disreputable history of Frankie Landau-Band' by E. Lockhart. I like dystopian and Young adult, contemporary, a bit of horror and mystery and anything with angelology and demonology ( I also loved the Hush Hush Series). I literally only watch 3 shows; friends, the vampire diaries and pretty little liars. I'm a music addict, I'm into Indie Rock, you'll either find me with a book in my hand or with earphones blasting, sometimes even both. :)

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I just love PLL, it's my favorite show above any others! I actually started that E. Lockhart book and then stopped. I think I'll pick it back up.

I'm a total headphone, book in hand girl, so we relate there! Welcome to the group, Tas!

message 15: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hmbridgeman) | 5 comments I'm Hannah, and I've been a book addict since I was a kid. I read while I did my chores ans when I was in the car and pretty much all the time. Honestly, all of that's still true today, but I work in a bookstore, which means my addiction has only gotten worse.

I read YA, sci-fi and fantasy, adult fiction, and some biographies and memoirs. Picking a favorite book is impossible, but my two current loves are I'll Give You the Sun and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

I live in Georgia, but I'm hoping to move to the northeast or northwest soon!

Eden (edenlovesbooks) My name is Eden. I'm 27 and live in Texas with my main squeeze. LOVE YA and books with romance/fantasy stuff. It all started with....Harry Potter of course when I was in the fifth grade and got the first book for Christmas (can't believe how long ago the first one was written!). I still love Harry Potter and did a reread for 2014. My books bring me a hell of a lot of happiness along with my cats and music (indie/folk/psychedelic/oldies, hate country) and LUSH because that stuff smells amazing. I wish I could say I'm creative and do all sorts of artsy things but instead I just admire people who do. All I can say is....book lovers unite. :)

h-haven't read Harry Potter? Did I hear you correctly? I knew there were a few people out there who haven't but...wow! I've been meaning to do a re-read so I can review them, maybe we should have a Harry Potter event later this year where we read/re-read and discuss

Yeah. I never read it. My mom got the books for my sister but I never got into it. I've never really been into witches and magic and things but I want to give it a try.

You should. The first book (or one of them) I remember reading myself was the first Harry Potter at age 4 I think. I enjoy the whole magic thing- I read pretty much everything but fantasy has always been a fav

Hi,

My name is Catherine, I'm 28 years old and I live in Perth, Australia.
I'm obsessed with reading. I don't usually stick to one genre even though I tend to read more Fantasy.

My favourite book series of all time would have to be A Song Of Ice And Fire by George R.R. Martin. I can never get sick of them.

Hi Catherine, Nice to meet you! Australia, sounds like a nice place to live.

I haven't read any of George R.R. Martin's novels but I think I might one day!

Fiona Titchenell | 3 comments Hi, I'm Fiona, I've loved books all my life, and my entire childhood and teenhood pretty much revolved around my Harry Potter obsession. I went to Calstate LA for English (got my BA), and now I write under the pen name F.J.R. Titchenell, often with my husband, Matt Carter.

I read mostly YA Horror and Sci-Fi, which is what I write, but I'll also read adult Horror and Sci-Fi and YA Contemporary, and a bit of Fantasy of both kinds.

Other than reading and writing, I love just hanging out and going on adventures with Matt. We especially love live Horror events at Halloweentime.

Ms Anja (msanjac) | 3 comments Hi, hola, živjo ...!

So, I'm Anja, a med student from Slovenia (small country, Italy's neighbour :))

I started reading really young, and one of the first things that I've read were subtitles (it was Mexican soap opera called Esmeralda).
The first book that I've read was The Little Flying Bears (it was written after Croatian/Canadian cartoon) but these days I read books with a bit more words and less pictures :P

I like to read everything that has romance in it. Even though I have to confess that paranormal, sci-fi, horror ... are not my cup of tea (but I do read them, just don't know why :)).

Besides reading I love teaching my chihuahua some cool tricks, writing, blogging, hiking, ...
But since uni comes first (and with that a lot of studying), I have no time for doing things I love.

So it's nice to meet ya all, and well, you're welcome to visit Slovenia anytime (I can even be your tour guide :))

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Anja,

Thanks so much for joining the group.

I've never been to Slovenia, but heck with a tour guide already set in place, you can't beat that. ;)
