Tiffani (gocartgrl) | 64 comments My official challenge is 30 books, since the last few years my reading has been slowing down. I also found this neat list to try different books - I tend to get stuck in the same genres... 26 Books to read in 2015

Here's the link if anyone is interested...

Tiffani, your children are adorable! I love how that challenge makes you step outside your comfort zone and read something that you might never have read on your own.

I don't think it's Tiffani's blog. I think she mentioned she's pregnant with her first on someone else's post.

Tiffani (gocartgrl) | 64 comments I am having a hard time focusing on one book so far this year. I am currently going back and forth between 6 to 7 books and not finishing much of anything.

1. The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovine The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy by Vickie Iovine 3.5 stars
I enjoyed the pace of the book and found her quirky attitude amusing. I def. do not agree with some of her advice. I found it on the whole a little superficial, but enjoyed it none-the-less. It is a nice change from some of the other "scary" complete pregnancy guides I have flipped through. I worked in a genetics lab for a number of years and I know things can go wrong, but I don't want a guide to constantly point out how and what can go wrong at every turn. There is such a thing as TOO MUCH information!

2. Beauty (Folktales #1) by Robin McKinley Beauty by Robin McKinley (reread) 4.5 stars
Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite fairy tales and I absolutely love this retelling. I think it is considered YA. I feel like it ends quite suddenly, which is a little disappointing. However, I would def. recommend. I loved the family back story. It is a quick read

3. A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (reread) 5 stars
I love this book. I have had the 3rd book since it came out and never got around to it. Then I picked it up and was completely lost, I had forgot what all happened. So it is back to the beginning for me. I think this is the third time I have read it and I still love it. I am a science nerd and a lover of fantasy so I find this book very engaging (and it is refreshing to see a fiction novel get the genetics terminology right - vanishing twins and chimeras are REAL!).

I love fairy tale tellings! And I love Robin McKinley. But I haven't read this Beauty and the Beast retelling yet.

Tiffani (gocartgrl) | 64 comments 4. Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (reread) 4 stars

5. The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy, #3) by Deborah Harkness The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness 4 stars
I enjoyed this series, but I didn't care for the ending. I think it left too many story lines open - maybe there will be more books or spin offs.

6. Confessions of a Credit Junkie Everything You Need to Know to Avoid the Mistakes I Made by Beverly Harzog Confessions of a Credit Junkie by Beverly Harzog
This is a basic tutorial on credit cards and finding the best one to fit your lifestyle. It was easy to follow, but I felt like it was a little repetitive. Her main points: pay off your balance every month and always read the fine print of your credit card agreement.

Tiffani, I'm working on paying off all of my credit cards, which isn't much for someone my age but I wish I read this book first...hahaha
