I love Princess of Glass by Jessica Day George!! It's the second in the Princess if the Midnight Ball series and it's my favorite!
Oh I forgot Throne of Glass! It was originally going to be a Cinderella retelling, but SJM changed it a lot.
One of my favorite book series ever.

I loved Ella Enchanted but I haven't read it in a while. "Fairest" is by the same author and that one was also pretty good.

I really want to read Ella Enchanted. Becca says it was so good! I watched the movie, and it was eh, so I hope the book is better!
I'd have to say that the worst part about the movie was like... I don't really know what to say... the whole thing. I watched it before I was going to read the book, but now I'm questioning whether I should read it or not. If it is as much of a turd as the movie was, then count me out. I just hope it's not as bad!

Hey! It did not completely suck! I mean Anne Hathway is a great actress even if she was a 22 year old playing a 15 year old girl. Plus the songs were great! DON'T GO BREAKING MY HEART! <3
I haven't read any of what has been mentioned above. But I read The captive maiden (M. Dickerson) and Riches to Rags (C.L. Bond) and I thought both were really good.
I second all the recommendations for Cinder .I also liked Silver Woven In My Hair by Shirley Rousseau Murphy.
Captive maiden by Melanie Dickerson is so good!!

I liked the movie as a movie. Not as an adaption of Ella Enchanted, but it was a good movie on its own ya know? But the book is amazing. It blew me away and still does.

(I'm repeating a bunch of the titles and authors so that they show up on the top right side of the page as an entire list. Sorry if I sound repetitive or annoying.)

A Cinderella retelling I love is Ellie and the Prince by J.M. Stengl. The main male love interest is African, but it's casual representation so it's not being constantly shoved into our faces. (Very tastefully done and he's such a good guy. Plus it's so rare!) I love Ellie though. She's so resilient and strong even in the face of bullying and mistreatment from petty rich resort guests.

Has anyone read Shard of Glass: A Cinderella Romance by Emily Deady? I haven't read it yet and am curious if anyone has any input on it. Please let me know what you think! Or just tune in to say you haven't read it either. Join the club haha.
Haven't read it but I like recommendations especially in the fairytale genre as I tend read from the same authors. Nice to find new stuff.
Ditto, I haven't read it either, but Kindle keeps forcefully recommending Emily Deady to me so I suppose I'll have to try her books out one of these days XD

No one's read it yet LOL. I keep getting it recommended to me too! So weird. You're right though, the cover is really pretty! When I do read it, I'll be sure to report to you guys right away haha. :)
Hi, Everyone, this is my first post here as I just joined this group. If this is allowed I'd like to recommend my own book called Cinderella -- A Love Story. It's my own retelling of my favourite faerie tale. It's basically the familiar tale that we all love, but it has a few unexpected twits that make it unique. Everyone loves it and it's won 5 awards so far.I do also have a few other retellings I'd like to recommend.
1) Before Midnight: A Retelling of Cinderella by Cameron Dokey
2) Cinders -- The True Legend by Richard Bacon
3) Ever After -- I don't know the author but it was the movie with Drew Barrymore and Angelica Houston.
Enjoy! =)

I read both of them! I personally enjoyed Ellie and the Prince more because I like the writing style better, but Traitor's Masque is a superb retelling too. The magic system in both are amazing. :)

That was such a good one! I loved the Jane Austen-esque feel to it!
Yes, the book is way better than the movie. I like Anne Hathaway but the movie barely resembles the book.
