Minho pauses in his painting when he hears the crack of a twig breaking behind him. He isn't used to other people being in this part of the forest where, usually, it is just him sitting and painting the twisted tress and watching the sun sink below the horizon. But someone must be here. He turns to see a girl.
"Nah, its alright; I'm only painting" Minho replies. He feels awkward- he doesn't like other people seeing his paintings. "How are you?" He asks while trying to move his painting out of the girls view.
"I have Kay with me too, she's probably perched in one of the tree's" Minho says smiling at the falcon sitting on the girls arm. "She, Kay i mean, i was pretty lazy, she doesn't like to hunt often!" Minho loved to talk about his kestrel and to discuss birds with others.
Minho laughed at Jewel in the tree and then turned back to Lillian, "To be honest, Kay suits me fine being lazy, as I'm nearly always just sitting outside- not actually doing exercise".
"Anyway, I suppose I should let you get back to your hunting..." Minho says, turning back to his half-finished painting of the forest.
"Enchante, get down from there!" Iltani muttered angrily, staring up the trunk of a thick leafed tree. The white kitten meowed innocently, peering downwards.
Anthony turned his head, hearing the meow. He saw a girl standing beneath a large tree. He turned and slowly walked over.
Iltani pinned her wings against her back and jumped, trying to reach a branch. Her fingers barely managed to grab it before the branch snapped and she tumbled to the ground.
At the sight of someone else, Iltani immediately went silent. "I'm-I'm fine..." She murmured, hesitating a second before taking the strangers hand to pull herself up.
Anthony helped her up before letting go of her hand. "Are you sure?" He asked, his voice soft and gentle.
Iltani nodded, quickly turning and looking back up the tree. She bit her bottom lip, all to aware of the stranger behind her. She didn't like people, whether they had wings or not.
Iltani jumped again, reaching for another branch that was higher up. She missed, stumbling back to the ground.
Anthony watched the girl jump and saw her stumble to the ground. He jumped up reaching for a branch. He caught it and pulled himself up.
Anthony grabbed another branch, moving closer to the cat. Once he was close enough to the cat he reached his hands out to grab it.
Enchante moved into the strangers hands willingly, perhaps sensing that she was safe with him. Iltani bit her lip again, watching with silence.
Anthony gently pulled the cat close to his chest. He opened his wings slightly behind him. He jumped down from the tree with the cat, his wings slowing the fall.
"No problem." Anthony handed the girl her cat. He could tell that the girl was shy and nervous, which reminded him of his sister.
Iltani gratefully took Enchante, scolding the kitten under her breath. "Maybe next time I'll just leave you in the tree, eh?"
Anthony turned to walk away. He knew that the girl was nervous because he was there so hoped that leaving would calm her down.
"I'm... Iltani." She nodddd softly after saying her name, while Enchante climbed on top of her head.
Iltani stayed silence in response, not knowing what to say. She pulled Enchante off of her head and cradled the kitten in her arms.
Anthony turned to go once more. He wasn't bothered by the silence, he was used to it but since his presence made her nervous, he decided it may be better to leave.
"I've never... I've never really talked to... To anyone... Before..." Iltani whispered in a halting and apologetic voice, trying to explain her silence.
"It's alright. Silence doesn't bother me. I just figured since I'm making you nervous, I should leave." Anthony explained, looking at her.
Iltani opened her mouth to respond when Enchante leapt out of her arms and scurried off, chasing after a butterfly. "Enchante!" Iltani exclaimed, the loudest she'd been the whole time.
Iltani dashed after the kitten, but tripped. Her wing was scratch by a tree branch, and her hands and arms were scraped. Of course, Enchante choose that moment to return.
Anthony picked up the cat with one hand and offered the other to help her up again. "You okay?" He asked.
"That dumb cat..." She muttered to herself, hesitating once more before taking his hand and pulling herself up. She winced in pain, her wing red with a slight gash.
Enchante meowed happily, not noticing Iltani turning to look at her wing and bite back tears of pain.
"Stay here, I'll be right back." Anthony told her, before sprinting through the trees to get some bandages for her wing and possibly a cage for her cat.
Iltani nodded quietly, never the type of person to argue if it wasn't life or death. She sank to the ground, holding her injured wing with care.
Anthony came back a few minutes later. Her cat was in a wooden cage/kennel. He set the crate down and knelt next to Iltani's injured wing.
Iltani didn't thank Anthony, feeling too awkward to even speak. She quickly wiped a year of pain away from her cheek, taking a shaky breath.
