Gavin slowed down, and eventually came to a stop. He glanced at the sun, shielding his eyes, and slowly sat down in the soft grass, folding his wings behind him.
Gavin slowly became aware of another presence, and noticed a young woman lying in the grass not far from him. He tilted his head for a second, and tried to figure out a bit about her just from her outward appearance.
Gavin frowned, thinking. The girl seemed to have a sly air about her, despite her innocent appearance, but he decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, and refrained from reaching to check his pockets.
Gavin blinked in surprise; he hadn't expected the girl to say anything. "No thank you," he replied cautiously. "Sorry for staring."
((Oh, sorry! I didn't see you, and thought I was the one waiting.))Gavin paused tentatively. "Nothing much. Just thought I'd go out for a walk," he told her with a tiny smile.
Gavin slowly stood up, and backed up one step. The girl seemed tired, and he really didn't want to bother her if she needed rest. "I could leave, if you like," he told her hurriedly. "I really don't mind."
Gavin thought about it for a second, then shook his head slowly. "I don't think so, don't worry about that. I just don't do well with... people."
Noticing the girl's silence, Gavin hesitated once more, backing up one more step. He wasn't sure if she wanted some company, or whether she just wanted to be alone for a bit.
Gavin froze in his tracks, slightly shocked by her urgency. "Okay," he said quickly, and silently cursed his own conciseness.
Gavin thought about it for a second. "I don't have anywhere to be," he answered, choosing his words with care. "Of course I don't mind talking for a while."
Gavin followed her tentatively as she searched, not quite sure of what to do. "My name's Gavin," he told her, after a short pause. "What is yours?
Gavin nodded. "A lovely name," he commented, his head tilted slightly. He was not sure as of yet whether it quite suited her, but would certainly put some thought into it.
