Introduce Yourself!
My name is Ashlee. I'm 29--FOREVER (but really, I am actually 29 right now). I live in the most beautiful state--Denver, CO! I am so lucky to live here. I read a wide variety of books (I have an MA in English lit), but my favorite is YA dystopian recently morphing toward fantasy. I've been pushing myself to read more adult books and more graphic novels, though, this year. I only watch three TV shows: Grey's Anatomy, Nashville, and Big Bang Theory. Other than reading, I really enjoy skiing in the winter and anything that has to do with me in water in the summer: waterskiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, SUPing, swimming, jet skiing . . . You get the idea. I love going to painting classes (canvas & cocktails is ours), eating out at sit-down restaurants, baking, playing board games, putting together puzzles, taking road trips/going places, teaching/learning, doing make-up, and organizing everything. I really want to take an iMovie course to get better at editing. I just started my BookTube channel (which is pretty terrifying to me!). It's a little rough on the edges.
I have one cat named Dolce Bianca. She is the color of white cake and is an absolute ball of fluff. She has diagnosed social anxiety disorder, but she is the sweetest cat in the land when it's just her and me. She will be 8 next month! She weighs almost 8 lbs as well. If you couldn't guess, she keeps quite active. Her favorite hobby is unrolling the toilet paper after I replace the roll on the wall.
I'm excited to join my first reading group on Goodreads and am looking forward to getting to know everyone! I teach high school English in my spare time ;)
Hi! My name is Rose and I live in Canada...ah, the Great White North. I'm a new booktuber and loving getting to know the community and getting into awesome sites like this one. :) My favorite genre is (hands-down) historical fiction - I also love fantasy novels and contemporary fiction. Other than reading, reading and more reading, I am a freelance writer and occasional bar-worker (because writing doesn't pay as well as I would like it to), and absolutely love food - my man-creature (as I like to call him) is a chef, and whenever we have free time we are hiking with the bear-dog or treating ourselves to good wine and good food.
Can't wait to discuss some great books with you guys.

Hello! My name is Alex and I live in New York :D I own a blog called The Book's Buzz , and I absolutely love reading! My favorite genre is hands down, high fantasy! I'm in love with the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, which Jessica actually introduced to me on her Youtube channel. I'm obsessed with this TV show known as The 100, a very action-packed science fiction thriller! Yes obsesssed as in, I have the posters and the swag. I had two fishes... but now they're long gone! Talents? Nope can't think of any... other thank probably reorganizing my bookcase over and over again haha. But I'm glad to be in this group and look forward to some read-alongs and discussions :D

Big Bang Theory!! Oh how I love that show! I've now got my family and my in-laws watching it! haha I love Sheldon and Leonard! I too LOVE playing board games! My sister has a HUGE closet of them so my family always plays at least one every time I visit!
haha I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I read the part about your cat unrolling your toilet paper off the wall! That's terrible! I'm so happy my cats Fantasia and Audrey don't do that! I JUST bought them brand new matching collars and somehow Fantasia CHEWED through it though! I have NO idea how.. It was snug on her, but not too tight or too loose. I think they Audrey must have helped her.. haha

Oh I've been hoping to read more historical-fiction this year! Maybe one month we will have a Historical-Fiction THEME! Maybe everyone can recommend titles! I have two cats and one dog, but they live with my parents on the other end of the state, so I don't get to see them very often. I'm hoping to get a dog of my own this year :)

When I'll get a degree in my current university, I wanna enter another one and become English teacher. But now I'm 19, though in two months I'll be 20 (time flies, indeed). I really love fantasy, probably my favourite genre. In general, YA and middle-grade books. Now I'm trying to diversify my book taste and read something else.
I watch a lot of tv shows, like reall a lot, but y avourite ones are Sherlock and Doctor Who.

Hiya, my name is Donna Jo (in real life I go by Donna but my real name is donna Jo, I stated going by that online because so many boards or chat rooms (in the past) there was always a few Donna's. so I will answer to either also DJ which a few online friends which I've known forever call me. I live in Northern New Jersey. I don't do the video book blogging but love watching it. I think I'm kind of hooked. LOL. Thank you Jessica for inviting me to the grp. hopefully I'll be able to do some of the books the grp pick. I'm probably older than most of you but hey it's only a number. I've been reading more YA lately then I did when I was a YA (I wasn't really a big reader back in the younger days. I love reading, needlepoint, going to the shore/beach (sister &brother in law have a house there), Hate winter (cold weather). Lately the TV hasn't been too good but finally the Bachelor is back on, I like grey's anatony, and a few other's. oh outlander (even though I no longer have that cable station I got to see it when I go down the shore). I sometimes think I want to start watching downton abbey but can't you just watch that at any point without starting from the first season.
I'm single, no pets (have a few in the family and I'm around them enough to get any pet fix I want LOL) I feel like I've been on Jenny craig forever and I've been close to goal a few times but now it seems a up and down type of cycle. no willpower, I rather walk at the beach and hate to walk at home. and walking in the winter forget about it. so try and do the exercise bike where I can at least read for awhile. I've been in a book reading contest at the shore bookstore in the summer for the past few years since they started it and I've came in 1st one year and came withn the first 3 the rest of the years for most read (prize for all is books, different ones or same ones from indie conference 1st prize gets a gift certifcate for a coffee place down there. so enjoy trying to beat my year before total each year.
The only other thing I can say last year I didn't make my goodreads goal of 200 books (okay I'm behind on my list for finished books have to update for december yet but I was short 4 books I think. the year before I went over 200 for the first time. this year I'm again trying for 200.
oh one more thing. I love reading and reviewing books. I don't have a blog I keep thinking maybe someday. I'm on a few street teams for author's on facebook. also one publishing co. Besides that I do get arcs when I go to the shore book and there is another new/used bookstore at home that they have a arc cart you can take one book if you want ot review (if you like the book) I usually get away with taking 2 books. but don't get there that often. I would love to get arcs in the mail to do but that hasn't happened yet.
Thanks Jessica so much for the invite to this group! I have a TON of books to read for different book groups and read alongs that I am a part of, but hopefully I'll be able to participate. I saw that my library has the Demon Cycle books on e-book that I can download so maybe I'll have time to start on those soon. They have been on my TBR list for awhile and look SO good!!!! I think I'll probably be the oldest in this group at 39! I really love reading YA -in particular fantasy, adult fantasy, mysteries and some adult contemporaries. I'm currently reading Firefight by Brandon Sanderson and really liking it! I also got The Golden Son- the sequel to Red Rising-in the mail yesterday and can't wait to read that. I also have Fairest by Marissa Myer on pre-order.
I have two kids, boy/girl twins who turn 9 in a few months. We homeschool so I get to go on lots of interesting trips and do fun things all day long! We live 15 minutes outside of downtown Chicago so we hang out at museums a lot. We also LOVE to travel as a family. In recent years we have gone to Hawaii, Ireland, England and Wales, a driving tour to Toranto and Montreal in Canada, Maine, Boston, and New York city. In a week and a half we are spending two weeks in Costa Rica. I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done on the beach!!!!
I'm also writing a nonfiction book right now and would love to someday write a middle grade or YA fantasy series.

As most of you know, Fantasy is definitely my favorite genre! I'm currently obsessed with watching Downtown Abbey! (I'm currently just starting season 3!) I don't have too many hobbies outside of BookTube and reading... but I do really love going on trails with my husband and puppy! I need to learn to stop calling her that... she's over a year old and over 60lbs... she's definitely not a puppy anymore!! I can do that super loud whistle that you see people do in the movies to hail a cab. I tried it while I was in New York last Spring... nobody came :(
