Heritage NZ can only preserve the exterior. The vicar is a good liar and convinced the people I got to talk to her that she has no intention of doing any such thing and how dare I accuse her? The front of the first choir pew has lat=ready been ripped off to make way for her guitar!
Cheers Kim. It's hard as this has been my church for 14 years. She's only been here 4. The bishop refuses to do anything, the vicar's adherents have been saying I'm mentally unstable which is why I'm banned! A medical cert from a psychiatrist trained doctor hasn't stopped them. It's such a sad mess and so unchristian.
Creative energy has been wasted with this appalling situation in my local Anglican church. The vicar has been so keen to get rid of me - she wants to rip up the church interior and 'modernise' a heritage listed grade 1 building - and I've been the mouth piece for dissent.
Anyway in desperation after two years of discord she got one of her adherents (why does power affect people so badly?) to attack me in the middle of the service. Despite witness accounts and outrage she has banned me from church for 'attacking her follower' and making 'a disturbance in the church during a service.' I certainly had to fight the man off, got a damaged wrist and arm and had a minor heart attack in the evening! She then got me police trespassed from the church buildings and grounds.
The resulting fuss, legal stuff, police stuff etc has taken up the best part of a year. It's been hard to find time to write let alone finish the novel. The problem still is not resolved but I look forward to a better future - even if it seems light years away.
I'll be back as soon as I can.
