What TV shows are you hooked on right now? Which ones get in the way of your reading time?

My goal for myself is no Netflix during readathons, and so far I'm doing exceptionally well staying away from Gilmore Girls during this week's #BoutOfBooks - but I'm worried I might crack before the end of the week. XD

Kayla Rayne (kaylarayne) One of my resolutions was to watch Doctor Who and now I'm addicted! I'm not loving the ninth Doctor, but the storyline is interesting.

Amanda Brindle | 12 comments Well, I watched Bob's Burgers and Switched at Birth the other day, because they had new episodes. I'm usually addicted to Once Upon a Time, but that's on hiatus, so thankfully it won't be eating much of my time for the next few months. I've been trying to replace my TV time with reading time as a New Year's resolution, and I think I've been pretty good about not rewatching older episodes or searching for new shows.

Carolyn (cowpenular) | 4 comments I had been doing really well ignoring tv and focusing on reading until Tuesday, when my roommates and I sat on the couch for 8 straight hours watching the Pretty Little Liars marathon on abc family. Other than that I mostly watch Agents of Shield and Agent Carter just started so I watched that too. I'm trying really, really hard not to get sucked into watching Friends on netflix since the semester just started, but I'll probably end up doing it anyway.

message 5: by Beth (new)

Beth Pretty Little Liars was just put on UK Netflix so that's been distracting me quite a lot. I'm trying to make sure I find the time to read as well though.

Joel Ball (jwball) | 7 comments I've recently started watching Breaking Bad, which has put a big dent in my reading activity. I should have known better.

message 7: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Mohr (runningwiththegnomes) At the moment I'm all about The X Files since I was too young for the show when it was on.

message 8: by Ava (new)

Ava I watch way too many shows, but I try to only watch them. Instead of watching 4 hours of the Food Network when there is nothing on, I'll try to read or do something productive! :)

Once Upon a Time, but it's on hiatus. I've been watching Galavant in its place but it's only a 4 week mini season. I also just started watching Sanctuary since a friend of mine loves it and wanted me to watch it. I'm enjoying it so far.

Melissa | 28 comments @midnight, Gotham, Sleepy Hollow, Galavant, the Librarians, the Fosters (when it returns), Mighty Med (it's kind of incredible), and randomly watching Chopped when I'm eating something terrible for me. My go-to movie is Warm Bodies. I'm all over the place.

Ooohhh, I want to check out the Librarians. It looked pretty cool.

Melissa | 28 comments I like it better than the movies, but that's really a character preference. I adore Colonel Baird and Ezekiel. Worth checking out, fun and campy.

message 13: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (sibraver) | 18 comments Cat- I love The West Wing! Currently on season 6.
I find that I'm more productive in my reading when I watch Netflix in between long stretches of the book, otherwise I get sleepy!

message 14: by Megmar (new)

Megmar Oh Leverage, definitely. I can't believe it's taken me this long to get into this show, it's amazing. And horrifically distracting.

message 15: by Manda (new)

Manda Jackson (mandajax1) | 1 comments I've been binge-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer all week. It took all of my willpower to stop last night and finally pick up my book again!

message 16: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 28 comments My In The Flesh dvd came in today, so I'm going to be binging that, too.

message 17: by Mat (new)

Mat | 41 comments Ok so for me it's definitely DOCTOR WHO! I just lost 10... Aka Barty Crouch so you know everyone in the know can send me sympathy flowers to Canada haha. Other shows are supernatural (haven't seen the newest season cause it's not on netflix yet) sword art online was just insane and I binge watched it in like a day. Dexter was decent but repetitive and lack of character building made me so mad! Bones is great... There's so many but lately I've been just watching one at a time :)

message 18: by Abby (new)

Abby (abcadab) | 36 comments Criminal Minds is literally my distraction from everything and I can't ever stop watching it.

Ummm, have you been watching my Netflix?!?! I have been obsessed with Dr. Who and Supernatural is always a must!

message 20: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (schwarznarr) | 7 comments Hah. You're talking to the girl who has an app on her phone that notifies her of new episodes airing and where she can keep track of old shows and what she has or hasn't watched. There are WAY TOO MANY on that list now. Oops...

message 21: by Maddison (new)

Maddison (maddeyeh) | 18 comments Supernatural is ruining my life. I've watched 5 seasons since Thanksgiving... which during dead/finals week was a real struggle. I'm about to start the 7th season and my addiction doesn't seem to be waning any time soon. Nothing else has been as much of a distraction from anything.

Sarah Raff | 14 comments Melissa wrote: "@midnight, Gotham, Sleepy Hollow, Galavant, the Librarians, the Fosters (when it returns), Mighty Med (it's kind of incredible), and randomly watching Chopped when I'm eating something terrible for..."

I saw a trailer for the Librarians and thought it looked cool so I started watching it and finished the whole season in less than a week. Granted it's not such a long season but it definitely held my reading back.

message 23: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 28 comments Sarah- the Librarians got renewed for a second season! I hope you can catch up on your reading before then. :)

message 24: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahsmanyhobbies) Second season of librarians !!! Heck yes!!

message 25: by Linda (new)

Linda (lindalunaxo) I've been trying to catch up on Agents of SHIELD which has been a bit of a distraction, but I've also been re-watching my all-time favourite show; How I Met Your Mother.

message 26: by Becka (new)

Becka Ramaglia | 20 comments Game of Thrones!
I wish I watched more but barely have enough time for reading and gaming lol. New gaming obsession is Fantasy Life for the 3DS.

message 27: by MegRose (last edited May 22, 2015 09:23AM) (new)

MegRose (megrosescroll) | 3 comments It's not that hard for me to get sucked into a good show- most recent obsessions have been Arrow, Flash, Agent Carter, Agents of Shield. But most of them just ended so now I need to search around for other shows that I should get caught up on (including Doctor Who, The Librarians, Orphan Black, etc.)
