Yes!! I’ve been listening to the soundtrack for years. Lol. I bought the book a while back, but I still haven’t gotten around to reading it.

Trudy (goodreadscomtrudyspages) I wanted to see the live performance so badly, but those ticket prices....😧. Anyway so excited it’s being offered through Disney. I’ll be watching this weekend.

Trudy. I felt the same way. It played here in Texas and the prices were through the roof!!! And it wasn’t even the original cast. Lol

I watched it last night!!!!! I also saw it LIVE when it came to Boston, it was a different cast.

Daveed!!! What a sight to watch. But I have to say, I loved the King, lmbo. The voices and facial expressions in the movie are really good to see. At the theatre (in the nosebleed section) the live performance had stunning choreography although the voices were not as strong. I found the singing in this one to be amazing. I intend to watch it again tomorrow. Will I ever get enough of Thomas Jefferson and King George?

I too loved the king’s performance, for all the reasons you gave. He was so into his part, he was spitting all over himself. I keep singing his song, even though I don’t know the words. Da da dada da ........

Lol!!! Loved it! Yes. He and Daveed did an amazing job especially asThomas Jefferson.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) | 4376 comments I have to admit, I really love this broadway cast- they put on an amazing performance. Angelica was no joke either. She has an amazing voice and stage presence that compliments the story to no end. These are the reasons a movie is so wonderful for me, I can always go back and see what I might have missed. The soundtrack is hopefully of the broadway cast.
That being said, for a stage performance, whoever did the choreography for the Boston production really outdid themselves. Because of my love of theatre and another outstanding performance m, done in a way to enhance their particular talents, I was a teeny weeny bit disappointed with the choreography of the movie. I kept looking for those visuals that have stayed in my mind. Ah, the theatre! I love it and miss it so much. I wish we all had had a chance to see Slave Play together, but I digress.....
Maybe one day we can all watch a movie at the same time and the. discuss it after watching

of a book we all read

That is a great idea! There is an app called Rave that allows you to do a watch Party and I know you can do it on Facebook, but I’m not exactly sure how that works.

queen victoria (makevocaloidgreatagain) currently watching it

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) | 4376 comments Oh boy, I don't know anything about Rave, but I'm eager to learn. We can read a book and then do a watch party on said book? I'm inspired!

A watch party, allows everyone to log on and watch the same movie or play at the same time. Dosha, I believe you are talking about a book club meeting, which is through an app like Zoom. I have another group that uses Zoom for our monthly meetings and it works well.

I am in a zoom book discussion group too. It used to be in person at my local library until Covid-19 and now it continues through zoom. I am hoping to get back to actually going to the library and sitting in a circle discussing a book we all just read. I miss that. Zoom just doesn't do it as well for me.
