Other Words for Home and King and the Dragonflies were definitely the most gorgeous middle grade books that I´ve ever read. Apart from the fact that the stories and the characters were really well developed, those books are both from POV´s authors ^^
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling (obviously)The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger (#8 is my fave book of all time)
Night books- JA WhiteCoralline - Neil Gaiman
Aru Shah and the end of time- Roshani Chokshi
Percy Jackson series - Rick Riordan
Harry Potter series - JK Rowling
Heroes of Olympus series - Rick Riordan
Roald Dahl books like Matilda, Charlie and the chocolate factory, etc
The most recent MG book I've read and loved was SAL AND GABI BREAK THE UNIVERSE by Carlos Hernandez.
Harry Potter, of courseOscar and the Lady in Pink - Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt (extremely emotional and sad, but still beautiful)
After finishing Tuck Everlasting, I picked up The Extremely Inconvenient Adventures of Bronte Mettlestone by Jaclyn Moriarty. I’m 79% in and OH MY GOSH it’s so GOOD!A mystery MG that I found delightful was Aggie Morton Mystery Queen: the Body Under the Piano by Marthe Jocelyn. There’s a second book due for release this September and I already have it preordered.
The WinterHouse trilogy by Ben Guterson was quite entertaining. But maybe it’s a series of books best enjoyed in Winter.
My next MG book to read is Stand Up, Yumi Chung! by Jessica Kim.
My favorite middle grades are :Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga
The Explorer by Katherine Rundell
How to Disappear Completely by Ali Standish
All the Wrong Questions by Lemony Snicket–I think this book gets overshadowed a lot by The Series of Unfortunate Events and it’s such a shame because this is one of my absolute favorite series!
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton JusterChains by Laurie Halse Anderson
The Voyage to Magical North by Claire Fayers
My favorite middlegrade book is MAthilda and the page wanders from Anna James. The hole pages and co series is so good! highly recommend them. Aswell as the train to impossible places from PG bell and his second book the big brain robbery.
I also love Alice in wonderland and harry potter.
my favorites includes:Coraline Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Harry Potter series
Percy Jackson series
Wonder by RJ Palacio
Narnia by CS Lewis
I have plentiful faves! It is difficult to sort😅....pls reply if anybody faces the same
I just read an ARC of The Last Rabbit by Shelley Moore Thomas. It’s a beautiful, magical, celtic-folklore-inspired story about sisters and the importance of family and forgiveness. I absolutely loved it and the illustrations were so cute. It’s coming out on Feb 9 and I highly recommend you all check it out!

I really love the little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery I watch the cartoon every Friday with my baby sister
I just finished re-reading The Frog Princess series (8 books) by E.D. Baker earlier this year. I read the first 3 books as a kid, then followed the series as the rest of the books came out. They hold up. They're really cute, the characters are great and the fantasy world and the magic system are really imaginative. I'll probably re-read these books again next year, too. E.D. I'm currently reading The Time Quintet by Madeleine L'Engle (A Wrinkle in Time, etc.) I haven't read these books since I was a kid, and I'd forgotten how utterly charming and absurd they are. These books are wonderful. I'm on Book 2, A Wind in the Door, right now and I'm thoroughly enjoying my re-read.A Wrinkle in Time Madeleine L'Engle
Some of my favorite middle grades are:
Some Kind of Happiness, The Gold Fish Boy, The Witches, The Ice Maid’s Tail, Pax, A Long Way From Chicago, A Year Down Yonder & Holes :)💛

I absolutely loved: - Ghost Girl by Ally Malinenko
- Amari and the Night Brothers by BB Alston
- The Mystwick School of Musicraft
I really recommend these to you as a middle schooler!
I recently read J.A. White's "Nightbooks". Of course, the book itself was excellent, but it's the short stories within the book that fly under the radar and deserve to be revisited, e.g., "The Top Bunk" and (I think) "The Playground": absolutely chilling and creepy. I'm not gonna lie...I was a little disappointed in the Netflix movie adaptation. But it's tough in any big production to carry over the nuanced mastery of a skillful writer.I'm currently reading "The Monsters of Rookhaven" by Padraig Kenny. And I'm completely sucked in already.
Just finished reading
The Monsters of Rookhaven
by Padraig Kenny:Stunning visuals, vivid descriptions and scenes, unpredictable, and more disturbing than I expected (which I like; I'd recommend for ages 10 and older).
But also empathetic, thoughtful, and original in using an almost mystical Gothic tale and multiple points of view to understand and come to know beings that are different from ourselves.
I felt the ending might have been rushed just a tad, but honestly, even that barely registers as a complaint. Overall, an absolutely memorable, delightful book.
Does the group have any thoughts on
Spy School British Invasion
by Stuart Gibbs,
A Problematic Paradox by Eliot Sappingfield
, and
Seventh Grade vs the Galaxy
by Joshua S. Levy?
I would really recommend,Scarlet and Ivy.......by Sophie Cleverly.
A house at the edge of magic.......by Amy sparks.
The Cavandish home for boys and girls.....by Claire Legrand.
The Ickabog.......by J K Rowling.
These are the best middle grade books that I have ever read. :)
I'm recommending my new middle grade thriller, Never Less, just released on Oct 31. The day two twelve-year-olds stumble across a secret tunnel being used to smuggle opioids is the day they start to save their dads. Never Less is a cross-generational story about addiction, loyalty and the start of a beautiful friendship.
